A fluidic connection system may comprise a port which includes a capillary tube receptacle with an end seal face and a threaded wall. The fluidic connection system may also comprise a capillary tube that includes a front end face for sealingly abutting against the end seal face of the port. On the capillary tube, a flange may be affixed at a distance from the front end face of the capillary tube. The fluidic connection system may further comprise a fitting nut that includes an axial hole to allow the capillary tube to pass therethrough and a matching threaded wall corresponding to the threaded wall of the port. The fitting nut may be slidably coupled with the capillary tube behind the flange. The distance at which the flange is affixed may be predetermined such that when the flange is pushed forward by the fitting nut, the front end face of the capillary tube abuts directly against the end seal face of the port.

Zero dead volume robust fluidic connection system

A inert sampling needle is provided for piercing a septum of a vial containing a sample. The sampling needle includes a hollow rigid support member having an inner wall, an outer wall, and a septum-piercing end. The sampling needle also includes a sheath member affixed to the rigid support member. The sheath member covers the septum-piercing end of the support member, the inner wall, and at least a portion of the outer wall adjacent the septum-piercing end to isolate the support member from the sample. Preferably, the sheath member is formed of polyetheretherketone and is affixed to the rigid support member by heat fusing. A method of forming, and a method of using the inert sampling needle is also disclosed.

Sampling needle and methods of forming and using same

A tight-spot fitting includes an elongated body configured to be inserted into and extracted from an aperture of a device, a user-operable head configured to be manipulated by a user to rotate the elongated body with respect to the aperture of the device, a depression in the user-operable head dimensioned and configured to receive a corresponding driver, and a through-bore extending through the elongated body and the user-operable head into the depression. The through-bore is configured and dimensioned to receive a line therethrough such that when the elongated body portion is inserted into the aperture, the line spans the aperture and through-bore, and extends through the depression. A tight-spot driver includes an elongated body, an operational end at a first end of the body, configured and dimensioned for insertion into a depression of a fitting, a user-operable head at a second end of the body, configured to allow a user to rotate the body in order to rotate the fitting when the operational end may be inserted in the depression of the fitting, and a slot extending from the operational end along at least a portion of the body. The slot is dimensioned and configured to accommodate a tubing the fitting extending the depression of the fitting A method of using the tight-spot fitting and driver is also disclosed.

Tight-spot fitting and driver, and method of use thereof

A high-pressure pumping system including an energizing seal component having an aperture extending therethrough and a seal jacket component having a base and a toroidally-shaped flared membrane extending from the base. The body and the flared membrane are monolithically formed of an inert polymeric seal material. The flared membrane extends through the aperture and encircles the energizing seal component to isolate the energizing seal component from fluid of the pumping system. The flared membrane may extend axially from the body and encircle the energizing seal component. The flared membrane may encircle the energizing seal component and overlaps a portion of the base. The seal jacket component may be formed around the energizing seal component. The seal jacket component may include a flange extending radially outwardly from the base.

Seal for high-pressure pumping system

A stretch valve which achieves precise control of fluid flow rates through the use of a cylindrical elastomeric valve element. This elastomer element is installed within the cylindrical flow path of a valve body. The flow path has a diameter that is slightly smaller than that of the elastomer element, which is therefore constrained within the flow path. Longitudinal stretching of the elastomer element causes the diameter of the elastomer element to decrease. As a result, a flow path is opened. The further the elastomer element is stretched, the larger is the fluid path that is created. Therefore, precise control of the fluid flow rate is made possible.
