A thin battery () has a central portion () and two end portions (). One of the two end portions includes a positive voltage connection () exposed on both the top and bottom surfaces of the battery. The other one of the two end portions includes a negative voltage connection () exposed on both the top and bottom surfaces of the battery. Each of the end portions () includes a magnetic element having a north magnetic pole on one of the top or bottom surface of the battery and a south magnetic pole on the other one of the top or bottom surface of the battery. Multiple batteries may be connected to each other through magnetic attraction. The battery may be securely attached and electrically connected to a garment () using positive and negative conductive surfaces/contacts () on a fiber layer of the garment and a corresponding magnetic element () beneath the conductive surfaces/contacts that attracts and secures the battery in place.

Battery and method of attaching same to a garment

A medical training and simulation system includes a plurality of inanimate objects, each being associated with an identification tag which stores an identification code which uniquely identifies an associated object. A database stores information of the objects. A reader reads a respective identification code of a selected object. An information retrieving processor retrieves the stored information which corresponds to the read identification code of the selected object. A device reproduces at least a portion of the retrieved information of the selected object.

Imaging system simulator

A modular wearable circuit suitable for demonstrating basic principles and/or concepts of electronics and electronic components by providing any number of the garments that can cooperate as a set to define a variety of different circuits capable of performing electrical or electronic functions. Each garment includes an integrated conductive network connected to one or more conductive connection points and one or more electronic components. Each garment represents and operates as at least one electronic component and is cooperative with one or more complementary garments to define one or more electronic circuits capable of performing an assortment of electronic operations.

Modular wearable circuit

The present invention provides a fabric display using the action of electrostatic charges to manipulate visual displays. The fabric display comprises areas of furry fabrics () that can serve as visual effects or display of information and can be usable in a wearable garment, furniture, or other suitable locations where it can be incorporated to close a circuit. Through activation by the user, the surface of furry fabrics () is electrostatically charged causing the furs to repel from the surface and each other in a substantially vertical orientation with portions of the furs extending cut of the surface, thus revealing the color of the fabric surface.

Fabric display

There is provided a fabric interconnect comprising a portion of a garment manufactured to contain a seamless tube-like elastic chamber to enable insertion of an electronic device having a conductive portion, wherein the chamber has a first inner surface that is substantially electrically conductive and a second inner surface that is substantially electrically non-conductive, and at least one fabric electrode coupled to the first inner surface. The electronic enclosure includes an outer casing having at least one conductive area. The electronic enclosure can be aligned in the chamber to a conducting and non-conducting position, by forcing the conducting area of the electronic enclosure to be in contact with the (conductive) first inner surface of the fabric interconnect, thereby turning the electronic device 'on' and 'off'. For example, by rotating the electronic device within the chamber or by pushing or pulling the electronic device to a predetermined position.

Luggage for cooperating with various portable devices

The present invention provides a stretchable fabric that may serve as a switch device or coupling to an electronic device and a power source by merely stretching or pushing the fabric. The stretchable fabrics may be usable in a wearable garment, furniture, or other suitable locations where it can be incorporated to close a circuit. Through a releasable stretching or pushing action by the user, electrically conductive strips integrated in the fabrics come in contact to activate related ancillary equipment such as power supplies or electronic devices.

Stretchable fabric switch

The present invention provides a stretchable fabric that may serve as a switch device or coupling to an electronic device and a power source by merely stretching or pusing the fabric. The stretchable fabrics may be usable in a wearable garment, furniture, or other suitable locations where it can be incorporated to close a circuit. Through a releasable stretching or pushing action by the user, electrically conductive strips integrated in the fabrics come in contact to activate related ancillary equipment such as power supplies or electronic devices.

A garmentincludes magnetic interconnectswhich serve to form mechanical connections to close garmentas well as to form electrical connections, for example, between power sourceand a device. Interconnectsare formed by a first portionand a second portionwhich form a mechanical connection via magnetic attraction. Firstand secondportions can be quickly coupled and decoupled and contain all the advantages of magnetic couplings, including ease of connection and simplicity of design.

Magnetic electrical interconnect

A wearable garment incorporates a manual interconnect device, so that a user wearing the garment can operate the interconnect device by coupling a connector, which is in turn coupled to a power source or external electronic device. Through a releasable locking action by the user, the connector is electrically coupled to the interconnect device, which is coupled to a fabric circuit integrated in the garment, such that operation of a locking action activates related ancillary equipment such as power supplies or electronic devices.

Conductive buttonhole interconnect

A wearable garment includes sensor device of well-know design that are selectively pressed against the skin of the wearer when it is desired to obtain sensor readings, such as heart rate or temperature, or to apply treatment such as electrical pulses for defibrillation purposes. The garment incorporates one or more bands of flexible material that circumscribe portions of the wearer's body, with at least one sensor device positioned on the garment between the band and the wearer's body. To assure the comfort of the wearer, the circumference of the band can be shortened selectively from a first dimension, which loosely circumscribes a desired portion of the wearer's body, to a second, lesser dimension, which more tightly circumscribes the wearer's body and presses the sensor-securely into contact with the wearer's skin.

An automatically switched camera system includes sensors for providing data of an image scene having subjects who are behaving in a manner which make them potential targets of the camera system, a pre-take indicator for providing an advanced notification to the subjects of the image scene that one of them is about to become a target of the camera system, a multimodal image analysis module communicating with the sensors and the pre-take indicator, for analyzing the data of the image scene provided by the sensors to select one of the subjects as a target of the camera system and outputting an indicator function command that causes the pre-take indicator to provide the advanced notification to the selected subject.

A wearable garment, usable by athletes, workers, and the elderly or infirm, incorporates an easily operated manual activator/switch located in a readily accessible position on the garment. A user wearing the garment can operate the switch by merely touching the appropriate location on the surface of the garment. The switch is electrically coupled to a signaling device, such that operation of the switch activates the signaling device to transmit a signal or signals for summoning help or identifying the geographic location of the bearer of the signaling device, or otherwise assisting the bearer. Pockets and/or other forms of support on the garment can be provided to assist in carrying signaling devices coupled to the switch as well as ancillary equipment such as power supplies. The switch can be incorporated into and enclosed within the structure of the garment to protect it from ambient conditions such as moisture or dust, and conductors or other cables can be made to extend outside the exterior of the garment structure so as to facilitate interconnection of the activator switch with necessary related equipment.

Portable signal activator assembly

There is provided a fluid-advancing fiber capable of being sewn, woven or knitted, using conventional methods, into a conductive mesh for use with various wearable fabrics for making direct contact with the skin. The fluid-advancing fiber has an inner portion and an outer portion, one or more conductive elements adjacent the outer portion, wherein the one or more conductive elements are adapted to constrict when heated by electric current and relax when cooled. The fluid-advancing fiber facilitates comfortable fluid communication between different wearable fabrics and the skin.
