A seat includes a frame, an assembly for supporting a self-contained breathing apparatus, and a headrest frame. The self-contained breathing apparatus and headrest frame are mounted to the frame. The seat also includes a seat belt assembly. The seat belt assembly includes a bracket, first and second guide members, a seat belt, a seat belt reel, and first and second portions of a buckle. The bracket is mounted to the headrest frame and the first guide member is mounted to the bracket. The second guide member, seat belt reel, and second portion of the buckle are mounted to the frame. The seat belt has a first end spooled into the seat belt reel. The seat belt extends up from the seat belt reel and is then threaded through the first and second guide members and the first buckle member. A second end of the belt is mounted to the frame. The first portion of the buckle is slidably mounted to the seat belt.

Seat

A seat for use in an emergency vehicle includes a base portion and a seat back extending up from the base portion. The seat back includes a pair of vertical cushions spaced apart and positioned on opposite sides of a central recess that houses a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). A lower end of each vertical cushion includes a removable insert and an upper end includes a retaining tab adapted to retain a shoulder strap of the SCBA. The base of the seat includes portions of reduced width along opposite edges of the base to provide clearance for a seat belt or seat tether. Attached to the seat back is a headrest frame having a curved top handle portion that facilitates inserting the SCBA into the recess, provides clearance for removal of the SCBA, and provides added structural stability to the seat. A pair of headrest members are pivotally attached to the headrest frame for movement about a pivot axis disposed at an acute angle with respect to vertical, such that the headrest members pivot outwardly and upwardly when the SCBA is removed from the recess.

A vehicle seat for supporting a person wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus, the self-contained breathing apparatus including a tank, the seat including: a frame including a pair of vertical frame members, the vertical frame members being spaced apart to permit the tank to be passed therebetween; and a bracket assembly extending between the vertical frame members for releasably supporting the tank, the bracket assembly including a pair of side bars extending rearwardly from respective of the vertical frame members, the bracket assembly including a depth adjustment bar releasably mounted between the side bars, and the bracket assembly including a tank clip supported by the depth adjustment bar for receiving the tank.

A vehicle seat for use in supporting a person wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus, the vehicle seat comprising: a frame; a seat cushion supported by the frame; a seat back assembly supported by the frame, the seat back assembly including a pair of spaced apart seat back members, the seat back members being spaced apart so as to house a self-contained breathing apparatus therebetween; a bracket mounted between and rearwardly of the spaced apart seat back members, the bracket being adapted to house a self-contained breathing apparatus; a headrest assembly supported by the frame above the seat back members, the headrest assembly including a pair of movable headrest members, the headrest members including a first headrest member hingedly connected to the frame for pivotal movement about a generally vertical axis between a first position wherein the first headrest member functions as a headrest and a forwardly pivoted position wherein the self-contained breathing apparatus housed between the seat back members can move forwardly without interference with the first headrest member, and a second headrest member hingedly connected to the frame for pivotal movement about a generally vertical axis between a first position wherein the second headrest member functions as a headrest and a forwardly pivoted position wherein the self-contained breathing apparatus housed between the seat back members can move forwardly without interference with the second headrest member.
