A suspension work platform hoist system for raising and lowering a work platform is provided. The system incorporates at least one hoist attached to the work platform and in electrical communication with a hoist control system having a monitoring and diagnostic system to monitor and record at least one of a plurality of operating characteristics of the hoist. The hoist control system may further include a safety lock out system that requires authentication of an operator prior to the hoist control system causing movement of the hoist system.

A portion of the expander passes through the sleeve to cooperate with the nut so that relative rotation of the expander and nut draws the expander's distal end toward the sleeve's proximal end thereby drawing a portion of the expansion section of the expander into a structural region located on the sleeve and expanding at least a portion of the sleeve's structural region, and drawing a portion of the locking section past the sleeve's distal end toward the sleeve's proximal end and deforming at least a portion of the sleeve's distal end to a locked state.

The steps for accomplishing the method include identifying the location of at least one of the plurality of joints between the plurality of masonry units and positioning a work tool capable of adjustability of at least one of pitch, roll, yaw, elevation, and cutting depth. Locking at least one of the adjustable attributes and advancing the work tool along the joint to remove mortar.

A suspension platform system having a work platform suspended from at least one modular mast by a hoisting system. The modular mast is composed of at least two mast units stacked vertically and attached to one another. Each mast unit has a multifunction rail including a plurality of safety engagement devices and a stabilizer guide device. The work platform has at least one mast stabilizer that cooperate with the stabilizer guide device to prevent undesired swaying of the suspended work platform. The hoisting system includes a carriages, hoist, and mast cable. The carriage engages the associated mast so that the carriage may be conveniently slid up and down the mast.

A method of repairing a wind turbine blade while mounted on a tower without removing the blade from the tower is provided. The method includes positioning the wind turbine blade in a substantially vertical orientation. Next, a containment structure is positioned adjacent to a damaged portion of the blade. The damaged portion is at least partially enclosed by the containment structure and the temperature of the air within the containment structure heated. The blade is repaired by removing a damaged portion of the blade, installing a repair portion to the blade where the damaged portion was removed, and the repair portion is cured in the heated containment structure.
