Some embodiments provide a method for channel estimation in a wireless device. According to the method, the wireless device obtains () an indication that a set of antenna ports, or antenna port types, share at least one channel property. The wireless device then estimates () one or more of the shared channel properties based at least on a first reference signal received from a first antenna port included in the set, or having a type corresponding to one of the types in the set. Furthermore, the wireless device performs () channel estimation based on a second reference signal received from a second antenna port included in the set, or having a type corresponding to one of the types in the set, wherein the channel estimation is performed using at least the estimated channel properties.

Methods and arrangements for channel estimation

The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for mitigating inter-cluster interference in clusters where one or more network nodes are transmitting in coordination using several transceiver antennas. In particular the disclosure relates to improved precoder algorithms to be used for coordinated multipoint transmission applications. The disclosure also relates to corresponding computer programs. The disclosure proposes a method, performed in a coordination unit in a communication system, of mitigating inter-cluster interference, wherein the coordination unit is configured to coordinate transmissions in a cluster comprising one or more wireless devices and one or more network nodes, wherein the one or more network nodes are transmitting in coordination to the wireless devices in the cluster using several transceiver antennas. The method comprises receiving, for each transceiver antenna in each of the one or more network nodes, a signal comprising pre-defined sounding sequences transmitted by the one or more wireless devices of the cluster and sounding channel interference from one or more wireless devices outside the cluster. The method further comprises estimating, from the received signal, the sounding channel interference from the wireless devices outside the cluster. The method also comprises determining downlink precoder weights, for use when transmitting from the transceiver antennas of the cluster, using the estimated sounding channel interference from the one or more wireless devices outside the cluster.

Methods and arrangements for mitigating inter-cluster interference

Techniques for facilitating and performing frequency-offset estimation are disclosed. The disclosed techniques include methods and apparatus for maintaining phase coherence among reference symbols on different transmission-time intervals (TTI) for an accurate estimation of frequency offset. Corresponding techniques utilize channel estimation or measurements of channel-related parameters based on multiple reference symbols belonging to different TTIs. An example method in a radio transceiver for facilitating frequency offset estimation at a remote receiver begins with determining that phase coherence between reference symbol transmissions in a first TTI and a second TTI is required. The radio transceiver selectively maintains phase coherence between reference symbol transmissions in the first and second TTIs, in response to said determining. The radio transceiver then transmits during at least part of a third TTI, following the second TTI, without maintaining phase coherence to the reference symbol transmissions in the first and second TTIs.

Maintaining phase coherence for frequency offset estimation

A device and method for communicating frequency-coded symbols that include data elements and reference symbols are disclosed. In one aspect, a carrier frequency band includes a plurality of subcarrier frequency bands. Data elements are transmitted and received on respective pairs of adjacent subcarrier frequency bands to provide diversity. Reference symbols are transmitted and received on predetermined subcarrier frequency bands. Muting is applied to selected subcarrier frequency bands based on the number and frequency configuration of the reference symbols.

In a first aspect the present invention relates to a method of compensating for propagation delay in a wireless communication system. A first base station is in communication with a first plurality of antenna units which are adapted to be in wireless communication with a first terminal. The first terminal having a terminal antenna. The first plurality of antenna units is spatially separated. The method according to the first aspect comprises the steps of determining relative propagation delay from each of the first plurality of antenna units to the terminal antenna and using the determined propagation delay to establish a delay profile to compensate for propagation delay from each of the antenna units to the first terminal and applying the delay profile to a transmission between the base station and the terminal. In a second aspect the present invention further relates to a system implementing the method according to the first aspect.

Compensation for propagation delay in a wireless communication system

The present invention relates to allowing configuring CSI reporting (step S-) on radio resources that are allocated over a plurality of sub frames on Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH). Allocation of said radio resources (steps S-) can be performed by semi-persistent allocation or by using Transmission Time Interval (TTI) bundling. By using either semi-persistent scheduling or TTI-bundling as decided by an eNB () the UE () can be configured to report CSI (step S-) for a plurality of UL transmissions. By allocating radio resources by using semi-persistent scheduling, the signaling overhead, which can be substantial for dynamic scheduling of radio resources, decreases. By using TTI-bundling the coverage of the CSI-reports increases.

Method and apparatus for transmitting CSI on the PUSCH in an LTE system

The present invention provides methods and apparatus for transmitting and receiving over a MIMO radio link. In particular, a precoding matrix is applied to transmitted signals and constrained in such a way so as to limit the additional peak to average power ratio (PAPR) caused by applying the precoding matrix. For example, each row of the precoding matrix may have a single non-zero element, and/or each column may have the same number of non-zero elements.

Methods and apparatus in a MIMO telecommunications system

A method in a user equipment device for estimating a channel upon receiving an enhanced control channel (eCCH) from a network node in a telecommunications system includes distributing the eCCH over multiple resource pairs, where each of the multiple resource block pairs includes a number of resources. Each of the resources is associated with a respective antenna port. The user equipment device identifies an antenna port that is associated with multiple ones of the resources. The multiple ones of the resources are present in different resource block pairs of the multiple resource block pairs over which the eCCH is distributed. Identifying the antenna port is based on how the eCCH is mapped to the multiple resource block pairs. The user equipment device estimates the downlink channel for the eCCH based on the identified antenna port in the multiple ones of the resources in the multiple resource block pairs.
