A conveyor chain manufactured from plastic, which is adapted to move at higher speeds than has been conventional heretofore and which is consequently particularly suitable to be used in a conveying system together with a conveyor mat to take over products from this mat or feed them to it. The chain has as a specific property that the front edge and the rear edge of the bearing surface of the chain link are of curved, preferably elliptically-shaped design in the plane of the bearing surface, that the single hinge eye at the rear edge of the bearing surface has an upper surface which extends in the same plane as the bearing surface and which engages through a convexly shaped end in a correspondingly shaped recess in the bearing surface of the adjacent link coupled thereto through the hinge pin. By these measures the transition of products to and from the chain proceeds extremely smoothly at high speeds too.

The invention enables inexpensive manufacture of a bend segment of different lengths and radii.

A conveyor mat built up from hingedly intercoupled plastic modules, each module consisting of a number of substantially equally spaced apart hinge plates extending throughout the length of the module and provided with hinge loops at both ends thereof, the outer hinge plate and a plate-shaped part located on the outer side of a module of at least a number of modules extending to a position below the bottom face of the mat formed by the successive modules or being provided with a recess in the longitudinal direction of the module, the arrangement being such that the thus formed downward extension and/or the recesses form a lateral guide for the conveyor mat and can cooperate with a tubular or U-shaped guide section respectively.

A conveying system, comprising an endless conveyor mat extending between two divert wheels, for conveying products between the divert wheels in a conveying direction. The conveying system further comprises a slide-over device for transferring, adjacent a divert wheel from or towards the conveying face, products conveyed by the conveyor mat towards or from said divert wheel. The slide-over device comprises a number of fingers extending into the conveying face. The conveyor mat comprises a substantially flat conveying face having at least one substantially straight slot, extending in conveying direction. The fingers each cooperate with a slot. Each finger is connected to the slide-over device so as to be detachable substantially in vertical direction.

A conveyor mat for conveying products in a conveying direction between at least two divert wheels. The conveyor mat comprises a number of rows of side-by-side modules succeeding each other in the conveying direction and extending transversely to the conveying direction. Incorporated into the conveyor mat are a number of guide modules which have their bottom side provided with guide members for cooperation with a guide provided on a conveying track. According to the invention, the guide modules are incorporated into the conveyor mat so as to be substantially equally spaced from one of the lateral edges thereof, such that the guide members together constitute one narrow, slotted guide track extending in conveying direction. In an advantageous manner, the guide modules can be incorporated adjacent a lateral edge of the conveyor mat or in or adjacent the center of the conveyor mat.

Upper part and return part of a bend segment for a chain conveyor provided with a conveyor chain movable over a track with at least one bend zone, which bend segment consists of at least one substantially U-shaped element made of plastic, which element comprises two legs forming the rails which the chain can move over or in, respectively, as well as a connecting portion connecting the legs of the element with each other, and which chain is provided with links each provided with a substantially rectangular bearing surface and a connection system situated under the bearing surface, wherein at least the portion of the legs of the bend segment that forms the guide for the bearing surfaces and connection systems of the chain links is manufactured from a first, high-grade type of plastic material, and the residual portion, if any, of the legs and the connecting portion are manufactured from at least a second, cheaper type of plastic material, for instance a recycled plastic material.

A conveyor mat comprising first and second plastic modules built up of hinge plates, the width of the first modules substantially being twice the width of the second modules, the second modules being located only at both sides of the conveyor mat, with always a first module being arranged between two successive second modules at a side, the modules being coupled together by means of hinge pins, and each second module being provided at a side of the conveyor mat with a bearing surface formed integral with the module, which bearing surface extends in the same plane as the conveying plane of the mat, each bearing surface, seen in the conveying direction of the mat, having a length equal to twice the pitch of a module. The bearing surfaces form a dead plate moving along with the mat, for bridging the gap in the transition between two adjoining conveyor mats being at right angles to each other.

The invention relates to a divisible sprocket wheel manufactured from synthetic material and having a gear ring (1b) and a hub portion (1a), comprising two wheel halves (1) which are manufactured by means of injection molding and have their axial faces (1f) abutting against each other, and means (3, 4) for enabling fixing the wheel halves together, wherein each wheel half (1) is solid and consists of a first synthetic material forming at least one half of the hub portion of the sprocket wheel; a second synthetic material forming at least one half of the gear ring of the sprocket wheel and the two radial outer faces (1d, 1e) of the wheel half, and a third synthetic material forming the internal portion (1e) of the body of the wheel half.

A chain conveyor is described, which comprises a track including at least one bend zone and a conveyor chain. The track comprises two spaced parallel rails over which the chain can move. The chain has links presenting a substantially rectangular carrying surface made of synthetic plastics material and a connecting system situated below the carrying surface and including hinge eyes on opposite sides of each link and a hinge pin of ferromagnetic material passed through the hinge eyes of each pair of adjacent links, thereby hinging adjacent links together. The chain is capable of flexing not only about the hinge pins but also in the plane of transport defined by the carrying surfaces of the successive links. Guide surfaces depend from the underside of the carrying surfaces for guiding the chain laterally relative to the rails. The maximum perpendicular distance between these guide surfaces is shorter than the minimum perpendicular distance between the guide surfaces formed on the rails. Exclusively in the bend zones of the track, in the space between the two rails, under the connecting system of the links, means are provided for generating a magnetic field to exercise attraction on the hinge pins and thereby to hold the chain flat on the rails in the bend zone.
