A bone plate includes first and second ends opposed along a longitudinal axis oriented along a longitudinal direction, first and second sides opposed along a lateral direction, and a bone-facing surface and an outer surface opposed along a transverse direction. The plate defines a first hole and a second hole arrangement extending from the outer to the bone-facing surface. The second hole arrangement is distal of the first hole, which is configured to receive a first fixation member, and the second hole arrangement is configured to receive at least one second fixation member for affixing with underlying bone. The plate is pivotable along an angulation range about the first hole. The second hole arrangement laterally crosses the longitudinal axis, defines the angulation range, and allows the at least one second fixation member to substantially secure the plate to the underlying bone at any angulation within the angulation range.

Bone plates, and related systems and methods

An apparatus, system, and method may be used to replace a natural or artificial articular surface of a joint, and to repair a bone that is associated with the joint. In some embodiments, the apparatus, system, and method may include a joint replacement prosthesis with a prosthetic articular surface, a support structure securable to the bone, and a first attachment interface. The system may also include a bone plate with a bone engagement surface securable to the bone on either side of a fracture formed in the bone, or a damaged area of the bone. The bone plate may include a second attachment interface that is attachable to the first attachment interface of the joint replacement prosthesis in order to couple the bone plate to the joint replacement prosthesis.

Interconnected implants and methods

A bone fixation clamp includes a first arcuate clamp member conforming to a shape of a bone and extending between a first connection end and a first free end, a second arcuate clamp member conforming to a shape of the bone, a second connection end of the second clamp member being pivotally attached to the first clamp member, the second clamp member extending between the second connection end and a second free end and a driving member received in the first clamp member passing out of the first clamp member to abut an abutment portion of the second member so that, as the driving member is extended further out of the first member, the driving member pivots the second clamp member relative to the first clamp member to draw the first and second free ends toward one another to apply a radially compressive force to the bone.

Bone fracture fixation clamp

A humeral nail can include a nail longitudinal axis extending from a proximal portion to a distal portion, a first proximal through bore defining a first screw trajectory, a second proximal through bore defining a second screw trajectory, a third proximal through bore defining a third screw trajectory, a descending through bore defining a descending screw trajectory, and a calcar through bore defining a calcar screw trajectory. The first, second and third screw trajectories extend transverse to the nail longitudinal axis, the descending screw trajectory extends anterior to posterior and proximal to distal, and the calcar screw trajectory extends distal to proximal, anterior to posterior, and lateral to medial. In some examples, the calcar through bore defines at least two calcar screw trajectories.

Humeral nail

A bone plate for treating periprosthetic fractures includes a head portion sized and shaped so that, in an operative position, a proximal end thereof aligns with a vastus ridge of a greater trochanter of a femur. The plate also includes a shaft portion extending distally from the head portion. The shaft portion includes offset holes to receive bone fixation elements therethrough. Each of the offset holes includes a first hole positioned on a first side of a longitudinal axis of the plate and a second hole positioned on a second side of the longitudinal axis opposite the first side so that bone fixation elements inserted therethrough extend anterior and posterior of a prosthetic received within the femur. The first and second holes are staggered relative to one another along a length of the shaft portion and extending beyond longitudinal edges of the shaft portion.

Proximal femur plate system

A percutaneous method for removing an outer portion of the proximal end of a lag screw protruding from a fractured femur when embedded in the femur to stabilize an intramedullary nail implanted in the intramedullary canal using a multi-part cannulated driver wherein the lag screw comprises a distal section, an intermediate section including a channel formed in the proximal portion thereof with a driver recess formed at the distal end thereof, and a proximal section having a notch, groove or score mark formed on the exterior surface of the lag screw separating or between the intermediate section and the proximal section and the multi-part cannulated driver comprises a cannulated shaft including a first driver member formed thereon configured to engage the driver recess to prevent the distal section and intermediate section of the lag screw from rotating in the femoral head when torque is applied to the proximal section by a second driver member engaging the proximal section of the lag screw to separate the proximal section from the section and the intermediate section along the notch, groove or score mark.

Percutaneous method for removing an outer portion of the proximal end of a lag screw protruding form a fractured femur

A bone plate for treating periprosthetic fractures includes a head portion to be positioned along a greater trochanter of a bone. The head portion includes pairs of bone fixation element receiving openings extending therethrough from a first surface of the plate which, when the plate is in an operative position, faces away from the bone, and a second surface which, when the plate is in the operative position, faces toward the bone. A pair of cable holes extend through the head portion from a first longitudinal side connecting the first and second surfaces to a second longitudinal side connecting the first and second surfaces. The head portion includes a pair of hooks for engaging a superior ridge of the greater trochanter. The plate also includes a shaft portion extending distally from the head portion to extend along a portion of the bone distal of the greater trochanter.

Proximal femur hook plate

A method to secure and stabilize an intramedullary nail in the medullary canal of a fractured hip including the steps of positioning the intramedullary nail within the medullary canal, positioning an alignment tool including a plurality of alignment bores on the intramedullary nail to align drill bits to drill holes or channels in the femur neck, femur cortex and upper and lower portions of the intramedullary nail, threading a femur neck screw through the corresponding alignment bore into a channel in the femur neck, through the hole in the upper portion of the intramedullary nail and into the head, threading a locking screw through the corresponding alignment bore and a hole in the proximal cortex and channel in the lower portion of the intramedullary nail and into the distal cortex, threading a stabilizer member through the corresponding alignment bore until the distal end portion engages the proximal surface of the intramedullary nail to limit lateral movement of the intramedullary nail thereby stabilizing the intramedullary nail in the medullary canal and removing the alignment tool from the upper portion of the intramedullary nail.

Method to stabilize an intramedullary nail

Various modular implants and modular implant systems are disclosed herein, as are methods of implanting the same. The modular implant systems can include modular implants that are stacked on each other to define a modular implant system, which in an example can be used to replace or augment a void in bone. The modular implants can interact with an intramedullary implant to, for instance, assist with a fusion procedure.

Implants for bridging osseous defects

An acetabular joint prosthesis may be designed to replace an acetabular articular surface. The prosthesis can include an acetabular cup, an augment, and an augment-securing mechanism configured to secure the augment to the cup. The mechanism can be reconfigured between an unlocked configuration in which a slider is slidable along a guide feature and a locked configuration in which the slider or guide feature is in an expanded form such that the slider is fixed in place relative to the guide feature. An unlocked configuration may include the augment-securing mechanism allowing rotation between the augment and the cup, with the augment being securable to the augment in multiple rotational positions. Also, the prosthesis may be configured to facilitate actuation between the unlocked and locked configurations, including moving an instrument to the prosthesis in an access direction that is substantially perpendicular to a rim of the cup.

Acetabular joint prosthesis

A plate for treating a bone includes a plate body extending along a longitudinal axis from a first end to a second end and being sized, shaped and contoured to be positioned along a desired surface of a bone. The plate also includes a slotted opening extending through the plate body and defined by a first portion sized and shaped to permit a head portion of a bone fixation element fixed to the bone to be passed therethrough and a second elongated portion extending along the longitudinal axis from the first portion in communication with the first portion, the second portion sized to prevent the head portion of the bone fixation element from being passed therethrough so that, when the head portion of the bone fixation element is received through the first portion, the plate is slidable relative thereto such that the second portion engages the head portion of the bone fixation element.
