Methods of making sleeved hydrophilic catheter assemblies

A multilayer film for ostomy and bowel management applications includes a barrier layer comprising at least about 90% wt. nylon 6/69. The multilayer film provides excellent mechanical and odor barrier properties, and softness and quietness desired in ostomy and bowel management applications.

A hernia belt () may include a digitally knitted support belt () and a two-part fastening system (). The two-part fastening system may include a first part () and a second part (), in which the second part includes a plurality of fastener strips () arranged spaced apart from each other. The digitally knitted support belt may include mesh stitch layouts () for providing breathability and support.

A trans anal irrigation device that can be used on a bed. The device includes a rectal catheter connected to an irrigation fluid supply. A waste collection bag is also connected to the catheter. The catheter may be insertable in a seat attached to a fluid supply line. A valve in one of the catheter or seat selectably allows or prevents fluid communication between the catheter and a waste collection bag. The catheter may include an inflationless cuff made of a flexible material that permits it to be inserted in the rectum to prevent leakage around the exterior of the catheter.

An ostomy belt system includes an ostomy belt having a strip of material and a belt coupling element, and an ostomy pouch having and outer wall defining an inner volume, and a pouch coupling section configured for releasable engagement with the belt coupling element. A retention cuff is disclosed for retaining a fluid collection device or system in an orifice of a patient. The retention cuff has a body has a central opening and an inflationless cuff wall that includes an annular cuff wall and one or more side elements. The retention cuff is non-inflatable and has a self-deployed state or shape. The retention cuff can be coupled to a fecal collection device such that the central opening is in flow communication with a collection tube of the device and with the body of the retention device.

A fecal drainage system includes a collection bag and a catheter tube connectable to the collection bag. The catheter tube is a multi-layer odor barrier structure. The layers of the catheter tube include one or more thermoplastic elastomer layers and one or more odor barrier layers. For example, the catheter tube may comprise an inner thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) layer, an intermediate odor barrier film layer, and an outer TPE layer. Alternately, the multi-layer catheter tube includes an inner TPE layer sandwiched between outer layers of odor barrier film material.
