A radiographic material containing tabular silver halide grains also includes an amido compound as an antifoggant precursor that can slowly release an antifoggant over time. These compounds are present in reactive association with the silver halide in tabular silver halide emulsion layers, and are present in an amount of at least 0.5 mmol/mol of silver. The radiographic materials are protected from fog during storage particularly in high temperature environments.

Photothermographic materials contain one or more blocked aliphatic thiol compounds in an amount of at least 1 mg/mas stabilizers. These compounds have a calculated octanol-water partition coefficient (c log P value) of 2.0 or greater, and an N value equal to or greater than 6.5.

Black-and-white, dry processable thermally developable materials have increased stability after imaging with the incorporation of at least 0.0001 mol/mof a thermal solvent having one or more &#x3e;N&#x2014;C(&#x2550;O)&#x2014; groups. A silver halide color photographic element comprising a support, a silver halide emulsion and poly(alkylene oxide)s wherein greater than 50 percent of the poly(alkylene oxide)s have acidic functional end groups with an aqueous pKa.ltoreq.10, or end groups which will react to form acidic functional end groups with an aqueous pKa.ltoreq.10 during development, on both termini; and wherein the poly(alkylene oxide)s have a molecular weight ranging substantially between 1700 and 6000 AMU.
