Spectral efficiency for a 5G network, or other next generation networks, can be increased via a resource scheduler of a network node. The resource scheduler can receive a first signal from a mobile device of a wireless network. The first signal can comprise resource request data representative of a first request for a resource of the wireless network. In response to receiving the first signal, the resource scheduler can transmit a second signal to the mobile device via a network device of the wireless network, wherein the second signal can comprise buffer status request data. The scheduler can receive a third signal from the mobile device, wherein the third signal can comprise buffer status data associated with the buffer, and based on comparing bandwidth data to the buffer status data, the scheduler can assign the resource channel to the mobile device.

Facilitation of efficient spectrum utilization for 5G or other next generation networks

Example embodiments relate to spectrum resource sharing management. A first mobile network operator (MNO) network device receives a request for network access from a UE operable to communicate with network devices of a first mobile network operator. The first MNO network device determines whether it has enough bandwidth to meet the UE's request, by determining whether a threshold level of utilization of frequencies in a first frequency range allocated to the first MNO network has been met. In response to a determination that the threshold level has been met, the first MNO network device transmits an electronic token to a second MNO network device in a coverage region of the network device, wherein the electronic token is indicative of a request for authorization to use a frequency in a frequency range that is allocated to a second MNO. The second MNO network device can transmit an authorization for the first MNO network device to use the frequency.

Multi-operator spectrum resource sharing management

A first user equipment is provided with femtocell functionality. The femtocell is instantiated based upon a user defined trigger. A second user equipment inside the area of coverage of a stationary transmitting component receives a message from the first user equipment that is outside the area of coverage of a stationary transmitting component. The second user equipment transmits the message to the stationary transmitting component.

Systems and methods for using femtocell functionality in user devices

A communications interface provides for communications between a wireless communication device and a hearing assistive device. The communications interface converts a signal, including an audio signal, received from the wireless communication device into a format recognizable by a hearing assistive device. The communications interface generates a communication signal including the audio signal based on the converted signal and transmits the communication signal to the hearing assistive device using a low power radio frequency transmission protocol. The hearing assistive device converts the communication signal received from the communications interface into a usable format, extracts an audible signal from the communication signal, and manipulates the extracted audible signal according to a criterion associated with a user of the hearing assistive device.

System(s) and method(s) are provided for management of content(s) directed to a wireless digital media frame (WDMF). Management is facilitated by a service provided by a mobile network platform. A service subscription allows a subscriber to establish femto cell coverage in a location that host a subscribed WDMF(s); determine content(s) delivery preferences; and extend the service to a group of auxiliary subscribers. Various sources of content such as a mobile station, a non-mobile device, or a content server associated with a service platform (e.g., an internet service provider) can deliver content(s) and signaling. Integrity of content(s) and signaling is provided through access protocol(s) that exploits credentials associated with a source of content. Content(s) are managed through a content interface that conveys available content(s) in a source of content and an intended WDMF. Various alarm(s) can be delivered to a WDMF as a part of the content management service.

Content management for wireless digital media frames

A wireless enabled digital media frame that can communicate over a wireless wide area network (WWAN) is provided. The wireless enabled digital media frame comprises an internal or external WWAN modem (e.g. GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA/LTE) such that the one or more media is transferred to the media frame using a wireless connection (e.g. 2G/3G/3.5G/4G). The wireless enabled digital media frame displays the received media files on a display screen. Further, broadcast alerts received over the WWAN and/or calculated current signal strength is also displayed on the display screen. Furthermore, setting information is received by the WWAN modem and accordingly applied to modify or update media frame functions.

Portable wireless enabled digital media frame

A communications interface provides for communication between a wireless communication device (WCD) and a hearing assistive device (HAD). In an exemplary embodiment the communications interface includes a communications module to receive an audio signal from the WCD. The communications interface transmits the audio signal to the HAD using a Low Power Radio Frequency (RF) transmitter. The HAD receives the Low Power RF signal and provides a voice signal to the HAD user via a speaker. In some embodiments, the HAD includes a microphone and a transmitter. The HAD transmits a voice signal generated by the microphone to the communications interface. Exemplary methods for using the WCD and the HAD are also disclosed.

An electronic device includes a receiver, a processor, and a presence activation sensor configured to receive a signal from a user. The user signal includes a user specific performance parameter, or the user specific performance parameter may be accessed from a memory by the processor in response to the user signal. In non-enhanced mode operation, the device receives standard signals and outputs them according to standard performance parameters. In enhanced mode operation the device receives standard signals, as well as a user signal which triggers the processor to manipulate the standard signals to output unique signals according to the user specific performance parameters.

A craft-mounted repeater system processes signal properties (e.g., signal strength) between terrestrial (ground-based) wireless networks and mobile users that are aboard crafts (e.g., airplanes and/or ships) equipped to allow the user's mobile communications device to communicate at departure and at arrival of the craft. An onboard craft-mounted non-translating in-band only repeater system is a provided that increases the terrestrial mobile network signal levels inside the aircraft or ship to allow passengers to communicate with a terrestrial cellular communications system.

An Interface provides for communication between a wireless communication device (WCD) and a hearing assistive device (HAD). In an exemplary embodiment the Interface includes a first short range communication module to receive a first short range communication protocol from a WCD and extract a desired audible signal and a second short range communication module to provide the audible signal to the HAD via a second short range communication protocol. The HAD may be provided with an RF module to receive a low power RF signal and provide a voice signal to the HAD user. The Interface allows the WCD device to be positioned a distance from the user's HAD, thereby decreasing interference at the HAD due to the operation of the WCD. The Interface also can be provided with a microphone to receive voice signals from the user and in turn provide them to the wireless communications device.
