A memory structure stores a plurality of color maps, the entity, when decompressed by a printer controller, comprising a plurality of first level wrappers, each first level wrapper including at least one characteristic to identify a corresponding color map, and a recipe to define and locate packets for constructing the color map, the recipe having at least one locator for each second level wrapper; and a plurality of second level wrappers of different types, each second level wrapper wrapping a corresponding packet.

According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which is stored instructions that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to determine that data stored in a memory device of a printer cartridge installed in a printing device is to be updated. The printing device may be in remote communication with the apparatus via a network connection. The instructions may also cause the processor to identify update data that is to be used to update the data stored in the memory device. The instructions may further cause the processor to communicate, via the network connection with the printing device, the identified update data to the printing device. The printing device may update the data stored in the memory device of the printer cartridge with the update data.

A user device constructs a custom color table for an imaging device and transmits the custom color table to a computing device. The computing device digitally signs the custom color table constructed at the user device. The digitally signed custom color table is deployed to the imaging device. A method for creating an image to be printed is provided. A first halftone pattern and a second halftone pattern for respective first and second periodic clustered dot halftone regions of the image are selected. The regions have respective frequencies and one of the frequencies is higher than the other frequency. A transition region is determined. The transition region includes a boundary between the two regions and includes additional portions of the two regions beyond the boundary. The two halftone patterns are blended with each other in the transition region based on a blending ratio of the two halftones where the blending ratio changes as a function of distance between the edges of the transition region.

A toner coverage determination system and method are described. The toner coverage determination system may include a memory storing a module comprising machine readable instructions to receive an input image, and generate a grid including a plurality of points corresponding to pixels to be sampled on the input image. The machine readable instructions may further sample the pixels corresponding to the plurality of points, evaluate pixel intensity values for the sampled pixels, and determine a toner coverage value based on the evaluated pixel intensity values.

A correction factor is determined, wherein determining the current correction factor comprises indexing the count value to the power correction table.

A printer system comprises a communication interface and printer components. The communication interface receives a humidity value from a toner cartridge. The printer components control printing operation based on the humidity value. To control printing operation, the printer components may configure a dither matrix based on the humidity value. The toner cartridge comprises a humidity sensor and a communication interface. The humidity sensor detects a humidity level and generates the humidity value to correspond to the humidity level. The communication interface transfers the humidity value from the humidity sensor to the printer system.

Methods of providing lower resolution format data into higher resolution format are described. A laser printing system is provided having first and second lasers configured to receive and be driven by raster data. Image data, which is to be rendered onto a print medium is received in a first resolution format. The first resolution format is converted into a second resolution format which is greater than the first resolution format by mapping the image data to provide mapped image raster data in the second resolution format. The first laser is driven with a portion of the mapped image raster data, and the second laser is driven with another portion of the mapped image raster data.

In one embodiment a first predetermined amount of image data is provided which is to be rendered onto a print medium. The first predetermined amount of image data is provided in a first resolution format. Using the first predetermined amount of image data, the first predetermined amount of image data is replicated into multiple predetermined amounts of data sufficient to provide said first predetermined amount of image data into a second resolution format which is greater than the first resolution format. At least one laser beam in a laser printer system is modulated using the multiple predetermined amounts of data.
