A valve assembly for a single-lever faucet is configured to control a flow rate of water and has a valve body, a valve cartridge, and a valve stem. A flow control assembly is operatively connected to the valve assembly and constructed to attach to a faucet handle. The flow control assembly includes a valve stem, a handle actuator that operates the valve stem to control the flow rate of the water, a gear assembly, and a biasing member. Moving the handle actuator to the water-on position from the neutral position increments the valve stem to an open valve position. The handle actuator automatically returns to a neutral position with the water flowing after the user pivots the handle actuator to a water-on position, and automatically returns to the neutral position with no water flowing after the user pivots the handle actuator to the water-off position.

Water-saving faucet

A flow control assembly for a single lever faucet includes a coupler adapted to operatively connect a handle to a valve stem of a valve assembly. A cam mechanism has a valve stem portion and a handle portion, where the cam mechanism is operatively connected to the valve stem and the cam mechanism engages the valve stem to move the valve stem to a predefined open position in response to the handle being moved from a neutral handle position to a water on position. The coupler provides a biasing resistance that increases resistance to handle movement as the handle is oriented in a position other than a neutral handle position.

The present disclosure describes, among other things, a method for attaching a fiber optic terminus of a fiber optic connector to a fiber optic cable. The method may include determining a type of epoxy to be mixed from a first material in a first barrel of the dual-barrel cartridge and a second material in a second barrel of the dual-barrel cartridge. The method may include determining a first rate at which to advance a first plunger against the first barrel based at least in part on the type of epoxy to be mixed. The method may include determining a second rate at which to advance a second plunger against the second barrel based at least in part on the type of epoxy to be mixed. The first rate and the second rate may be associated with a proportion between an amount of the first material and an amount of the second material to mix for the epoxy.

An apparatus includes: a cleaver configured to automatically cleave a bare fiber extending from an end face of a terminus or connector of a fiber optic cable, the cleaver including a bending element configured to bend the bare fiber and a defect-formation device configured to create a surface defect in surface of the bare fiber under tension when the bare fiber is bent by the bending element; and an abrader configured to automatically finish the end face of the terminus or connector after the bare fiber is cleaved.
