The disclosed technology is directed towards automatically detecting failure states and the cause of the failure. For a network, the technology collects status messages from equipment and customers into batches as they occur. The technology groups and aggregates messages, then transforms the aggregations to the frequency domain. Anomalies induce detectable changes in the particle distribution of a trained particle filter, from which an anomalous spectrogram is generated. The status messages of each device are iteratively removed from the larger set of messages, resulting in reduced subsets that are each aggregated, transformed into a modified spectrogram and compared against the anomalous spectrogram to obtain a distance score. The distance score for each device is used to rank the devices with respect to being the cause of the failure.

Identifying and localizing equipment failures

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a server performing operations including receiving a list of media content items; the media content items have a priority order according to a number of communication devices of network subscribers in a region predicted to request the respective media content items and a predicted location of the communication devices. The operations also include monitoring network traffic to predict a period of decreased network load, and scheduling copying of the media content items from a content server to a caching proxy located in the region; the copying is scheduled to be performed during the predicted period of decreased network load and in accordance with the priority order. The operations further include receiving from the caching proxy a report including the media content items stored at the caching proxy and an amount of storage remaining at the caching proxy. System and method for predictive delivery of prioritized content

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining device diagnostic data for a group of devices that provide communication services to a plurality of customer premises of a plurality of users over a network, obtaining configuration data associated with the plurality of customer premises, obtaining quality key performance indicators associated with the communication services of the plurality of customer premises, applying linear regression to the device diagnostic data, the configuration data and the quality key performance indicators to identify a quality threshold based on a particular configuration, detecting a subset of customer premises from among the plurality of customer premises that are not satisfying the quality threshold, and analyzing a subset of the device diagnostic data that corresponds to the subset of customer premises to determine equipment associated with the subset of customer premises for maintenance. Method and apparatus for managing maintenance for a service provider

A device for processing alarms includes a processor and a computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform various operations. The operations include receiving a first alarm from a first diagnostic device and determining a location associated with a first user. When the location associated with the first user is determined to be proximate to a device, the operations further include presenting a first verbal alert indicating that the first diagnostic device is presenting the first alarm. When the location associated with the first user is determined to be not proximate to the device, the operations further include sending a first notification message to a first mobile device of the first user indicating that the first diagnostic device is presenting the first alarm.
