A constant pressure discharge nozzle having a pressure-responsive baffle head assembly for varying the size of the discharge opening in response to fluid pressure in the nozzle, and having adjustable stop means, controlled from the exterior of the nozzle, for limiting the pressure-responsive opening movement of the baffle head to selected positions intermediate the minimum and maximum pressure-responsive positions, while still permitting pressure-responsive movement of the baffle head between a selected intermediate position and the minimum flow position.

Constant pressure nozzle with selective volume limit control

A constant pressure nozzle having a pressure-responsive baffle head movable toward and away from a throat element so as to define a discharge orifice. The throat being movably mounted for retraction by external control means to a debris-flushing position, but means being provided to maintain the throat in a fixed position during normal operation of the nozzle.

Fire-fighting nozzle with selective flush control mechanism

An automatically regulated constant-pressure fire-fighting nozzle having a pressure-responsive baffle element for adjusting the size of the discharge orifice in response to supply pressure changes. An upstream-directed baffle extension in opposition to the direction of fluid flow for creating a low-pressure zone adjacent said baffle element in response to high supply volume to modulate the effective displacement force acting on the orifice-regulating baffle element. The extension also serving to adjustably restrict the fluid flow passage to said orifice in response to pressure-induced displacement of said baffle element.

Constant pressure nozzle with modulation effect

A plurality of circumferentially spaced teeth are positioned in a predetermined manner on the end of a pattern-forming sleeve for a liquid discharge nozzle. Each of the teeth is provided with a stream-deflecting surface which is disposed to deflect portions of the discharge stream angularly into intercepting relationship with each other to increase the liquid particle breakup in the stream and improve the uniformity and homogeneity of the stream pattern.

Liquid particle deflector structure for discharge nozzles

A liquid discharge nozzle having a pressure-responsive movable baffle element overlying the discharge opening and displaceable by fluid pressure in opposition to spring-loading. An open-ended cylinder houses a piston out of the path of liquid discharge flow, which piston presents a pressure surface in opposition to the pressure responsive surface of the baffle to modulate the effective action of the spring as the discharge volume increases.

A fluid flow valve, particularly of the ball type, with an improved seal and mounting adapter arrangement to permit the valve to be uncoupled in place and swung out or completely removed for repair of maintenance or replacement without disturbing or disconnecting any other portion of the fluid flow system. The valve also includes an improved valve modulating control arrangement which includes frictional locking means coupling the valve control mechanism to the valve member for flow adjustment; but acting to lock the flow adjusting elements and the valve member itself against any significant change in flow control position in response to flow pressures tending to cause an angular shift or rotation of position of the valve element.
