A package for housing two discs including a cover forming an elongated spine panel with first and second opposing panels extending therefrom such that the opposing panels selectively rotate between open and closed positions. First and second partial trays attach to the first and second opposing panels, respectively, and are laterally spaced so that when closed, the thickness of the package is approximately equal to that of one of the trays. Each partial tray has a planar surface forming a periphery and a recess, a rosette near a first side of the tray for engaging a central aperture to retain a disc within the recess and a spacing rim upstanding from the planar surface. The spacing rim is U-shaped so that in the closed position, the spacing rims do not overlap.

An improved rosette for securing a disc having a central aperture includes a raised cylindrical hub projecting upward from a planar base, the hub being formed of first and second upstanding annular sections having substantially cylindrical side walls, the first annular section comprising at least 180&deg; of the circumferential extent of the circular hub. Each of the annular sections includes at least one radially extending rim projecting outwardly beyond the cylindrical side walls. An arm cantilevered from the cylindrical wall of the second annular section above the base extends radially inwardly toward the central axis of the hub such that downward finger pressure applied to the free end of the arm causes the cylindrical wall of the second annular section to pivot radially inwardly and downwardly to allow the central aperture of a disc mounted on the rosette to be released from engagment with the radially extending rims for one-handed removal of the disc from the rosette.

An improved rosette for securing at least one disc shaped element having a central aperture includes a raised circular hub having a substantially cylindrical side wall, the hub projecting upward from a planar base; at least one resilient, arcuate, circumferentially extending finger integrally formed with the hub and extending along the perimeter of the hub, each finger being formed integrally with the hub at one end and free at the other end; at least one aperture defined in the base, the number of apertures corresponding to the number of fingers, the fingers being arranged so that the free ends thereof overhang the apertures for permitting the free ends to substantially unobstructedly deflect arcuately inwardly when the disc is inserted on the hub; and a radially extending protrusion on the free end of each finger projecting outwardly beyond the outside diameter of the hub. The perimetric edge of the disc central aperture engages the protrusions when the disc is placed on the hub, causing the fingers to move arcuately inwardly from the perimeter of the hub to allow the disc central aperture to slide downwardly over the hub, the fingers resiliently engaging the perimetric edge of the disc central aperture to hold the disc in place on the hub.
