A method of producing hydrocarbons from a subterranean reservoir comprises pre-heating by exposure to electromagnetic radiation from a electromagnetic radiation source, injecting through at least one injection well a solvent into the reservoir to dilute the hydrocarbons contained in the pre-conditioned portion, and producing through at least one production well a mixture of hydrocarbons and solvent. An apparatus for producing hydrocarbons from a subterranean reservoir comprises at least one radio frequency antenna configured to transmit radio frequency energy into a subterranean reservoir, a power source to provide power to the at least one radio frequency antenna, at least one injection well configured to inject a solvent from a solvent supply source into the subterranean reservoir to lower the viscosity of the hydrocarbons, and at least one production well configured to produce a mixture comprising hydrocarbons and solvent from the subterranean reservoir.

Effective solvent extraction system incorporating electromagnetic heating

A power switching module provides power to a line amplifier in a broadband telecommunications network. The switch includes a first input port for connection to a first power source, a second input port for connection to a second power source, an input/output port for connection to a cable connecting the line amplifier with a remote amplifier, and an output port for connection to the line amplifier. A controller controls selection of the power source and provides power to the line amplifier from one the input ports and can provide power to, or receive power from, a power supply associated with the remote amplifier via the input/output port. A switch allows selection of a primary mode of operation or a secondary mode of operation. Another switch allows selection of a first operating voltage range or a second voltage operating range. A monitoring circuit communicates status information about the switching module to a remote location. Monitored parameters include, for example, power supply status, module humidity and temperature.

Smart power switch for broadband communications network

A log lifting beam with structural attachments that allow it to be fastened to a downed tree trunk. A means is provided for coupling the beam to a portable jack. The beam is positioned on a downed tree trunk with its forward end resting perpendicularly on the top of the tree trunk. The lower end of the beam rests on the ground. A tongue assembly hangs downward from the forward end of the beam. A steel chain stretched from the lower end of the tongue assembly and extended under the tree trunk to an attachment point mid-section the beam serves as a cradle for the tree trunk. The tongue of a jack is inserted under a short chain also bolted to the lower end of the said tongue assembly. The jack tongue is raised against this chain and the downed tree trunk is lifted.

A rigid pickup truck cargo supporting V shaped frame comprises necessary structural members to hole it in a V shape and to allow its narrow end frame work to be coupled to the rear of a pickup truck, below the cargo bed level, per the pickup truck's standard type trailer hitch coupler bail. The wider portion of the V shaped frame extends a number of feet rearward in a slight upward slope away from the pickup truck's rear end. A long member attached crossways at the wide end of the V shaped frame provides a cargo load carrying surface. The V shaped frame is supported and made laterally stable by a square like frame which can be attached crossways at any of several points along the more forward or more narrow section of the V shaped frame. The square like frame extends up vertically from the V shaped frame to the lowered pickup truck tailgate. The long horizontal upper member of the square like frame rest on the lowered pickup truck tailgate for support. The upper section of the square like frame can be rotated rearward to dismount it from the pickup truck tailgate. The long horizontal upper member of the square like frame is held against the pickup truck tailgate per the use of a 5/8'.times.6' bolt screwed through a small box like frame that is mounted, along with its other related parts, to a rigid member of the V shaped frame.

A machine is disclosed for shelling beans, peas and other legumes. The machine comprises a frame and a lid mounted atop the frame for movement between lid open and lid closed positions. A drum which includes removable sections is rotatably mounted to the frame beneath the lid. Shrouds are mounted about and in spaced relation with the drum. Sets of beaters are rotatably mounted to the frame for rotation within the drum. The beaters themselves have swing arms rotatably mounted thereto. Drive means are provided for rotating the drum and the beaters at diverse speeds. A baffle is pivotably mounted to the frame beneath the drum for movement between first and second baffle positions for alternatively deflecting fruit of shelled legumes into a sieve and their hulls into collection bins.

Shelling machine

A device adapted to be attached to and between a woman's skirt and slip adjacent lower edges thereof at spaced locations to prevent the slip from being displaced upwardly while being worn. The device is constructed of a strip of material having opposite surface portions, with adhesive means applied to the opposite surface portions, whereby one surface portion can be attached by the adhesive means to the slip and the other surface portion can be attached by the adhesive means to the skirt. Cover means is provided over the adhesive means to prevent unwanted contact with the adhesive means prior to use, with the cover means being provided with gripping portions to permit easy removal of the cover means when desired. One embodiment of the strip material is constructed as an elongated flexible element with the adhesive means being applied to one surface portion adjacent one end and additional adhesive means being applied to an opposite surface portion adjacent an opposite end, with an area therebetween free of adhesive material. The flexible area will permit lateral displacement of the skirt relative to the slip, such as when the flare in the skirt is greater than the flare in the slip. The attachment devices are constructed of a number of colors which can be chosen to match the color of the slip and skirt being worn by the individual.
