A system and method for developing an artificial intelligence (AI) taxonomy is disclosed. The system includes a cognitive engine configured to perform deep learning processes, and includes a controller. The controller includes a processor and a memory communicatively coupled to the processor. The memory stores executable instructions, which when executable by the processors, causes the processor to collect one or more metrics from node packets received from at least one node, generate a keyword based on the one or more metrics, generate a key phrase based on the keyword in combination with another one of the one or more metrics, and generate a sentence from the key phrase, wherein the key phrase is used for communication with at least one of a plurality of network AI entities.

Method and system for developing battlefield AI taxonomy

A multi-user (MU) multiple-input/multiple-output (MU MIMO) module for a fifth-generation (5G) software-defined radio (SDR) network environment is disclosed. In embodiments, the MU MIMO module of a transmitting SDR system of a 5G mobile ad hoc network (MANET) or other peer-to-peer directional network receives feedback from a receiving SDR system based on a prior or current frame and generates, based on the feedback, a compound transmission security (TRANSEC) encryption key for a subsequent frame. The compound TRANSEC encryption key encrypts the transmission of the subsequent frame through a combination of frequency-hopping encryption codes, orthogonality-hopping encryption codes, and dynamic pseudorandom distribution of transmitting power among antenna elements to simulate multipath hopping. The SDR system may include an antenna controller capable of managing dynamic power distribution according to the compound TRANSEC encryption keys as well as directionality shifts and beamforming operations to evade jammers detected within the 5G network environment.

Compound transmission security (TRANSEC) for military-grade fifth generation (5G) radio systems

A system and method for adaptive extension of a command and control (C2) backhaul network for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) is disclosed. In embodiments, the adaptive extension includes front-end and back-end cognitive engines on either side of an extension of the C2 backhaul network to a remote control station otherwise without a point of presence (PoP). Both cognitive engines transmit test packets to the other to refine coding schemes for transmission of C2 packets across the extension based on received feedback about the transmission. When C2 packets are received from the backhaul network or remote control station, the cognitive engines select an optimal coding scheme based on packet size. The cognitive engine encodes the C2 packets based on the optimal coding scheme. When C2 packets are received from the other cognitive engine, the applicable coding schemes are identified and the C2 packets decoded accordingly.

System and method for adaptive extension of command and control (C2) backhaul network for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)

A voice over internet protocol (VoIP) system for an aircraft includes a ground gateway, an aircraft gateway disposed on the aircraft, and a service provider network disposed on the aircraft. The ground gateway is in communication with the aircraft gateway via the service provider network. The aircraft gateway includes a first proxy agent, and the ground gateway includes a second proxy agent. The first proxy agent and the second proxy agent communicate a network packet for a number streams. The network packet includes a header and voice payloads for the streams.

Large volume voice over in internet protocol services for an aircraft

A large scale hierarchical and heterogeneous network, and specifically mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs), derive content elements from a plurality of informational data points via spectrum fusion at each hierarchical level. Content elements may be derived via fusion of information data from peer nodes and from content elements from lower hierarchical levels. Content elements are propagated up for further abstraction at higher hierarchical levels. Each content element is tagged with a node location and external reference direction. The node location and external reference direction facilitate fusion are each hierarchical level where the deriving node is receiving content elements from a plurality of different nodes.

Spectrum information fusion for dynamic spectrum access of heirarchical heterogeneous wireless networks

A system and related method sends Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) control traffic via an Over the Air (OTA) waveform in a variety of military voice radios. The system employs a voice to Internet Protocol (IP) conversion to create voice sized frames and redundancy DSA frames recognizable and transmittable by the voice radio. The system dynamically adapts to different types of military waveforms including those which implement: (1) an encoded digitized voice to be divided into frames, (2) an encoded digitized voice to a continual bit stream, (3) direct analog modulation of voice samples, and (4) transmission of voice and data over a single channel. The system adapts to an available channel being voice or non-voice in the military radio enabling DSA control traffic to run with data (in-band) channel or in a voice channel.

Dynamic spectrum access control traffic over military radio voice channel

A fusion engine configured for execution on a ground radio station (GRS) for an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) operating environment is disclosed. In embodiments, the fusion engine tracks the wait times of UAS required to share a C2 channel while waiting for a full C2 link with the GRS, as well as the dynamic availability of C2 channels for full or shared C2 links over time. Based on the collected wait times and availability variables, the fusion engine generates congestion metrics relevant to the capacity of the GRS, e.g., its available spectrum resources, to effectively provide C2 services to every UAS operating within its coverage area. Congestion metrics include expected wait times on a shared C2 link fora UAS in service (e.g., waiting fora full C2 link) and/or the expected number of C2 channels available at the GRS at a given time.

System and method for generating control and non-payload communication (CNPC) congestion metrics at a ground control station

A command and control (C2) radio system configured for same-channel out-of-band sensing is disclosed. In embodiments, the radio system (e.g., an air radio system (ARS) aboard an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) or a ground radio station (GRS)) scans its switching back to the appropriate operating frequency before the next subframe starts. The radio system processes the collected energy samples to determine minimum and mean operating frequencies for idle subframes and slots where a preamble is not detected. The radio system uses idle frames to scan sensing frequencies assigned by a central server of the C2 link system, collecting spectral energy sources during the idle timeslots and energy levels, thereby identifying the level of interference on the assigned frequency (e.g., due to noise or interfering signals) and hypothesizes whether the detected interference is tolerable or precludes current use of the assigned signal in the vicinity of the radio system.

System and method for same-channel out-of-band spectrum sensing for command and control (C2) communications to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)

A centralized spectrum arbitrator for a command and control (C2) link system is disclosed. In embodiments, the spectrum arbitrator receives sensor fusion data from the air radio systems (ARS) and ground radio systems (GRS) of the C2 link system, each dataset comprising mean energy levels for a particular frequency and location. The spectrum arbitrator determines a time average of the energy levels and evaluates interference with the frequency at the location (e.g., whether the interference is tolerable or the frequency should not be used) and attempts to classify interfering signals (e.g., as radar, malicious, of the C2 link system or competing). The spectrum arbitrator may further fuse sensor fused data into additional spectrum situational awareness (SA) outputs illustrating or recommending opportunistic frequency use or reuse across the C2 link system.

System and method for spectrum situational awareness via server-based fusion in a command and control (C2) link system for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)

A system and method for incorporating co-site interference impact in dynamic spectrum access for heterogeneous hierarchical networks where preprocessing is used to create lookup tables for the different types of co-site interference. The lookup tables reflect the weight of the spectral leakage lobes for all signals internal and external to the system under different conditions. Lookup tables can be used at any hierarchical entity that offer dynamic spectrum access services in a cloud services construct. Co-site interference impact becomes its own set of dynamic spectrum access services that can be added to a dynamic spectrum access capable system without impacting the other dynamic spectrum access computations needs such as computation that produce spatial separation. Co-site interference becomes a second order spatial separation that is abstracted in lookup tables and adaptable based on measured metrics such that different lookup tables can be used under different conditions.

Incorporating co-site interference in dynamic spectrum access systems with minimal computational needs

A method and system for implementing dynamic spectrum access (DSA) in heterogeneous hierarchical mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) as a cloud service, independent of the network connectivity where DSA decisions can be made at any time regardless of the reachability state, includes hierarchical decision making processes and rules implementable at the node level, gateway level, or arbitrator level. The method and system have different precedence levels for making DSA decisions based on connectivity status. The system propagates spectrum sensing information upward, and propagates rule sets, policies and configuration parameters downward in order to create autonomous DSA decisions.

A system and method are provided for implementing unmanned aircraft system (UAS) deconfliction schemes by accepting representations of UAS flight plans in disparate native forms, and to converting them into a common format in support of evaluating potential conflicts, and providing flight plan approval/disapproval, and/or flight plan execution restrictions or warnings regarding potentially conflicting manned and unmanned aerial vehicle operations. The disclosed UAS Traffic Management (UTM) scheme may validate a UAS flight plan based on the provided flight plan representation, approving or disapproving the flight plan, and may provide suggestions for modification of a submitted UAS flight plan to enhance operational deconfliction without completely rejecting, through disapproval, the flight plan. Different levels of alerts and/or warnings may be provided to alert the UAS platform operators and National Airspace System operators/controllers to potential conflicts and conflict avoidance.

Systems and methods for creating a network cloud based hierarchical architecture for supporting unmanned aircraft are disclosed. A system may include a higher level server, one or more lower level server in direct communication with the higher level server, and one or more control station in direct communication with the lower level server. Each control station may be configured to: control flight operations of an unmanned aircraft; acquire flight information and position information of the unmanned aircraft; and provide updates to the lower level server regarding the flight information and position information of the unmanned aircraft. Each lower level server may be configured to: process the flight information and position information received from the control station; and provide updates to the higher level server regarding the flight information and position information received from the control station.
