A filter-less regulator is implemented for use in fluid flow systems that process low concentration reactive gases. The regulator includes an inlet, an outlet and a fluid flow path defined between the inlet and outlet by internal surfaces of the housing. The regulator further includes a pressure regulating section to reduce the pressure of a reactive gas flowing through the regulator between the housing inlet and the housing outlet. The internal surfaces of the housing are formed of a suitable material and the combined area of the internal surfaces is sufficiently sized to facilitate use of the regulator in the system without prior passivation for reactive gases at low concentrations (e.g., in the range of about 10 ppm or lower) while minimizing or substantially preventing significant loss of the reactive gas due to reaction and/or adsorption within the regulator.

Regulator for low concentration corrosive and reactive gases

A non-refillable valve device includes a housing with an axially extending internal cavity, where the internal cavity includes a chamber extending to an end of the housing. The housing is securable to a container to facilitate fluid communication between the container and the housing chamber. A plug member is secured within the housing chamber to provide a fluid flow passage between the container and the housing chamber when the housing is secured to the container, and an elastic sealing member is also disposed within the chamber. The sealing member is displaceable from a first position to a second position within the chamber, where the sealing member in the first position permits fluid flowing into the valve device to flow through the fluid flow passage and into the container, and the sealing member in the second position substantially prevents fluid flow through the fluid flow passage and into the container. A valve stem is preferably secured and axially displaceable within the internal cavity of the housing to effect movement of the sealing member from the first position to the second position.

Non-refillable valve device

Compressed gas cylinder valve removal tools and a kit are disclosed. A body portion of the tools mate with a corresponding portion on a compressed gas cylinder valve assembly. A stem portion of the tools is advanced through the body portion and into the valve assembly of the compressed gas cylinder. A punch portion of the stem impinges against the valve of the valve assembly and punches out the valve into the compressed gas cylinder. A gas vent path is provided through the valve removal tool to allow residual gas within the compressed gas cylinder to escape through the tool to atmosphere while the valve is being punched out. In an alternative embodiment, the valve removal tool includes portions which mate with corresponding portions on a compressed gas cylinder valve, to unscrew the valve from the valve assembly. Once punched out or unscrewed, the valve will drop harmlessly into the compressed gas cylinder, ensuring that the compressed gas cylinder is fully vented to atmosphere and does not contain any residual gas therein.

An instrument calibrating demand flow regulator for providing a demanded amount of calibration gas from a calibration gas source to an instrument to be calibrated to permit calibration of the instrument includes a housing having an interior, an inlet for connection to the calibration gas source and an outlet for connection to the instrument to be calibrated. A pressure regulating valve device positioned within the interior of the housing regulates the pressure of the calibrated gas entering the interior of the housing through the inlet and a demand flow valve device delivers calibration gas to the outlet of the housing upon demand by a pump operatively associated with the instrument.

Instrument calibrating demand flow regulator

A non-refill valve for a non-refillable container, comprising a valve body having an inlet and an outlet and a passage through the valve body interconnecting the inlet and the outlet. A valve stem slides in the passage and has an axial passageway that extends partway therethrough and that terminates laterally in a passageway that extends through a side wall of the stem intermediate the ends of the stem. A ball in the stem rests on a seat on the stem and closes the valve stem passageway against the flow of gas from the outlet towards the inlet. A first spring urges the ball against the seat to permit flow of gas only in a direction from the inlet to the outlet by displacing the ball from the seat against the action of the first spring in an open position of the valve. A second spring urges the stem in the direction of the flow of gas from the inlet to the outlet, and a seal acts between the stem and the valve body. The second spring urges the seal into sealing relation with the valve body in a closed position of the valve, whereby when a coupling is attached to the valve body, the coupling urges the stem in a direction opposite the first-mentioned direction and against the action of the second spring to move the seal out of sealing relation with the valve body, thereby to establish communication between the inlet and the outlet when the pressure of a gas in the inlet is sufficient to move the ball off the seat against the action of the first spring.
