An apparatus, method, and a computer program is provided for gesture recognition using neural networks. An initial point is recorded when a user presses a finger on a screen. Subsequent points are recorded and an angle is calculated from point to point as the user periodically moves the finger. A golf practice apparatus includes an upper platform having a tee and a target located forwardly of the tee; a golf ball arranged at the tee above the platform for striking towards the target area, the golf ball having one end of a tether attached thereto, the tether extending through a slot in the upper platform with the other end of the tether being secured to elastic bands anchored to a lower platform at a location rearwardly of the tee area; and a plurality of bearings located in the tee area and supported on the lower platform, and arranged so that the tether engages at least two of the plurality of bearings. The tether has a sleeve attached thereto which is adapted to engage the lower surface of the upper platform, and thereby generate friction between the upper platform and the sleeve when the ball is struck. The combination of a plurality of bearings and a friction sleeve provides significant braking forces to slow down the flight of the ball, and to control return of the ball for a subsequent shot. The apparatus also provides for various adjustments to permit simulation of various golf shots and various lies of the ball.

The present invention seeks to provide a simple, low cost and easy-to-install (or remove) device for two-cycle engines which improves engine efficiency through more complete combustion, resulting in increased engine rpm and a decrease in emissions. The invention specifically relates to an insert device which is located upstream of the carburetor, preferably in a coupler which typically extends between an air cleaner and the carburetor of a two-cycle engine. The insert itself is generally formed as a tubular member (of one or more pieces) tapering from a larger inlet side to a smaller outlet side, with or without surface irregularities, i.e., ribs, flutes, etc., formed on its interior surface. It is important that the tuned air insert be located such that its lower edge, i.e., on the outlet side, be raised above the coupler outlet and carburetor inlet, and that the coupler surrounding the tuned air insert have a diameter sufficiently greater than that of at least a portion of the insert, so as to create a chamber surrounding the insert, immediately above and open to the carburetor inlet.

Tuned air insert for internal combustion engines and related process

An air filter assembly for a power tool such as a chain saw is provided. The assembly includes a housing with upper and lower components sandwiched about a filter element. The lower housing component includes a plurality of apertures arranged about its periphery for uniformly introducing air into the filter and through an outlet. The outlet is connected to a flexible coupling element adapted to be secured to the carburetor of an internal combustion engine which drives the tool. The upper and lower housing components are easily separated to permit access to the filter element.
