An initiator transceiver for operating in a two-way half-duplex communication mode with multiple recipient transceivers. The transceivers includes a body having a cavity and a control device, positioned within the cavity, for receiving a recipient identification code that identifies a remote transceiver and for transmitting an initiator identification code and the recipient identification code to the remote transceiver. The control device scans a plurality of channels for a signal or interference and designates a first available channel as a primary channel and a second available channel as a standby channel.

An ant habitat includes an outer transparent member which is vacuum-formed from a plastic sheet of material to have a through opening with an outer flexible perimeter wall. An inner transparent member having an inner flexible perimeter wall is connected through a flange to the outer transparent member to provide a space between the inner and outer flexible perimeter walls for receiving particulate material that will permit ants to burrow therethrough. The outer transparent member has a retainer lip extending above the inner transparent member to prevent the egress of ants.

An astronomical correlator for determining the position of the stars and method of using the same includes a transparent hollow globe having phosphorescent indicia. A horizon ring member and a latitude scale member can be utilized for defining the field of view of the night sky in correlation with the date and time. A flash light assembly can activate phosphorescent material, both on the transparent globe and on an alignment assembly, that permits a sighting by the observer of the night sky through the globe for determining the identification of stars.
