A battery pack includes an enclosure assembly, a battery assembly housed within the enclosure assembly, a mounting structure secured to the enclosure assembly, and a mounting clamp that includes a first section mounted to the mounting structure and a second section contacting the battery assembly.

A traction battery assembly includes, among other things, a cover of a battery array, a holder attached to the cover, and a circuit board held by the holder in a position where the circuit board is spaced from the cover. The holder is configured to communicate thermal energy between the circuit board and the cover. A method of securing a circuit board of a traction battery pack includes, among other things, holding a circuit board with a holder, and attaching a holder that is holding the circuit board to a cover of a battery array. The circuit board held by the holder is held in a position where the circuit board is spaced from the cover.

A traction battery assembly according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a thermal exchange plate having a plurality of coolant channels distributed within the thermal exchange plate according to a first pattern, and a thermal interface material disposed on a surface of the thermal exchange plate according to a second pattern. An exemplary battery assembly includes, among other things, an enclosure defining an interior, and a frame disposed within a wall of the enclosure. The frame includes at least one retention feature configured to hold a service panel in a position where the service panel covers an opening to the interior. An exemplary method includes, among other things, transitioning a service panel to an engaged position with at least one retention feature to secure the service panel in a position where the service panel covers an opening in an enclosure. The at least one retention feature is provided by a frame disposed within a wall of the enclosure.

A battery array frame according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a frame body, and a thermal fin including a body embedded in the frame body and a leg that extends outside of the frame body. A traction battery assembly for a vehicle is provided. The traction battery assembly may include a battery cell array having a plurality of battery cells. A thermal plate may be positioned beneath the battery cells and be configured for thermal communication therewith. The thermal plate may define a plurality of channel configurations within the thermal plate. Each of the channel configurations may correspond to one of the battery cells and include an inlet and outlet on a same side portion of the thermal plate. An inlet plenum may be in communication with the inlets and an outlet plenum may be in communication with the outlets. The channel configurations and plenums may be arranged such that fluid exiting the inlet plenum enters the channel configurations via the outlets and fluid exiting the outlets enters the outlet plenum and not into the inlet of another one of the channel configurations.

A battery pack includes a first side oriented battery assembly, a second side oriented battery assembly, and a vent chamber arranged between the first side oriented battery assembly and the second side oriented battery assembly. The first and second side oriented battery assemblies are thus arranged to share a common vent chamber. One of the first and second side oriented battery assemblies may additionally share a common heat exchanger device with a third side oriented battery assembly.

An exemplary method includes providing an alert in response to an analysis of an array that includes at least a first recorded value and a second recorded value, the first recorded value corresponding to an electrical parameter of a battery joint under a first set of operating conditions, the second recorded value corresponding to the electrical parameter of the battery joint under a second set of operating conditions.

A traction battery assembly includes a battery array with a plurality of stacked cells and a serpentine heat exchanger. The heat exchanger defines passageways for coolant to flow therethrough. The heat exchanger is interleaved with the cells such that opposite sides of each of the cells are in contact with the heat exchanger.

A battery assembly includes a plurality of battery cells arranged in an array. The array has first and second longitudinal sides and a plurality of spacers interleaved with the cells to create an air gap between adjacent cells to allow air circulation between the cells. An inlet manifold is disposed on the first longitudinal side and includes an inlet arranged such that air flows into the manifold in a direction substantially parallel to the first longitudinal side. A plate is disposed within the manifold and extends along the first longitudinal side. The plate has a proximal end near the inlet and a distal end. The plate has openings that each define a pass-through area that allows the air to circulate through the plate. The openings are arranged on the plate such that the plate has a larger pass-through area near the proximal end than near the distal end.
