An open air system for an automotive vehicle includes a moveable roof panel and can include a single pair of guide tracks that extends along the vehicle through which the moveable roof member travels. A backlite of the open air system and the roof panel can have a similar transverse contour. A seal member can define a boundary between a dry area and a wet area and the guide tracks can be positioned outside of the seal member in the wet area. A wind deflecting assembly can be included and can have a wind deflector moveable between a retracted position and a raised position and can be automatically actuated by a drive member that drives movement of the roof panel. The open air system can be a modular open air system that can be installed into a vehicle as a modular unit.

Automotive vehicle open air system

A structural seat system is provided for an automotive vehicle. In another aspect of the present invention, a structural beam is employed which extends in a cross-vehicle direction spaced above a vehicle floor. A further aspect of the present invention provides a passenger seat with a recessed configuration. Yet another aspect of the present invention uses a structural reinforcement and seat system in a convertible roof vehicle.

A convertible top for an automotive vehicle is provided. This convertible top is coupled to the vehicle such that it moves between a raised operative position and a lowered storage position. When in the raised operative position, the convertible top covers the passenger compartment of the vehicle. When in the lowered storage position, the convertible top is stored in the rear seat area and is covered by a portion of the convertible top itself.

A covering system for a rear passenger seat of an automotive vehicle includes a panel that is positionable in an extended position that generally conceals the rear passenger seat and a retracted position that generally reveals the passenger seat. The covering system further includes an automatic drive system capable of driving the panel between the extended position and the retracted position. The covering system of the present invention enables a four-seat convertible vehicle to be quickly and conveniently converted into a two-seat roadster-style vehicle.

An automotive vehicle system employs a generally rigid body panel which is movable in an automatic manner from a generally horizontal and closed position to an upwardly angled open position. In another aspect of the present invention, an entire vehicle body panel is initially movable from a closed position to a vertically raised intermediate position, and then subsequently pivoted to an open and somewhat vertically angled position.

A movable roof system for an automotive vehicle includes a roof panel which can be retracted to a stowed position below a storage compartment cover while the vehicle is being driven. In another aspect of the present invention, two or more generally rigid roof panels are movable from above a passenger compartment to below a plane defined by a closed rear deck lid.

In another aspect of the present invention, the system provides a locking device that is slidably engaged to lock the door. Another aspect of the present invention pertains to a pair of adjacent passenger doors that open in opposite directions.

A convertible top for a vehicle having a rear egress. The convertible top includes a dynamic rear bow which rests on a rear portion of the vehicle body and is pivotable for providing access to the rear of the vehicle.

Provided is a table assembly for use in over-the-road trucks. The table assembly includes a table top and a table support linkage assembly having a center support linkage mechanism and a pair of side support linkage mechanisms. The table assembly of the present invention enabling the table top to be positionable between a first elevated position and a second lowered position whereby the table top remains substantially horizontal during the path of travel from the first position to the second position. The table assembly further including a latching mechanism for maintaining table assembly in the first elevated position.
