A passenger restraint system for use with a vehicle having a seat includes an inflatable member fixed to the seat and having a guide channel. The passenger restraint system further includes a safety belt system having a torso section extending through the guide channel, wherein the torso section is moveable with respect to the inflatable member.

A vehicle seat for use in a vehicle having a floor includes a safety belt system mounted to and carried by the vehicle seat, a lower seat structure mounted to the floor, a seatback frame, and a pivot assembly connecting the seatback frame to the lower seat structure such that the seatback frame may pivot with respect to the lower seat structure. The pivot assembly includes a bracket connected to the lower seat structure, and a pivotable connector member connected to the seatback frame and pivotally connected to the bracket. The bracket has first and second side portions that define an open bottom, and the first and second side portions are connected to the lower seat structure.

Pivot assembly for a vehicle seat

A vehicle instrument panel assembly includes a vehicle console with first and second movable instrument panel pods positioned on opposing sides of the console. Each pod is independently movable in forward and rearward directions with respect to the console. Each pod includes a first airbag positioned at a forward side thereof and a second airbag positioned at a rearward side thereof for improved energy management.
