The present invention provides an apparatus and method of determining and displaying trading trends for an investment underlying one or more options wherein an opening value and a closing value for the underlying investment for two or more time intervals is obtained. An opening value trend using a market trend indicator and the opening values for the investment is calculated, and a closing value trend using the market trend indicator and the closing values for the underlying investment is calculated. A visual indicator comparing the opening value trend to the closing value trend for the underlying investment is then displayed. This method may be incorporated into a computer program embodied in a computer readable medium using code segments to accomplish the method described above.

Apparatus and method for displaying trading trends

The present invention provides an apparatus and method of determining and displaying trading trends for one or more currency pairs wherein an opening value and a closing value for the one or more currency pairs for two or more time intervals is obtained. An opening value trend using a market trend indicator and the opening values for the investment is calculated, and a closing value trend using the market trend indicator and the closing values for the one or more currency pairs is calculated. A visual indicator comparing the opening value trend to the closing value trend for the one or more currency pairs is then displayed. Methods and apparatus for real-time dynamic analysis of a chemical etching process are provided. The apparatus comprises an optical element () operative to pass a beam of electromagnetic radiation at least at two points in time through a liquid phase () comprising at least one chemical component and including an etchant, wherein the etchant is operative to etch a solid. A detector () is operative to perform an ex-situ non-contact scanning detection of the electromagnetic radiation subsequent to passing through the liquid phase in a near infra-red range (700-2500 nm) at the at least at two points in time so as to detect a change in an optical property of at least one of the at least one chemical component and the etchant. The apparatus further comprises a processor () operative to activate an algorithm so as to compare the change in the optical property of the at least of the at least one chemical component and the etchant received from the detector so as to provide data concerning a change in concentration of the etchant; and further configured to perform a chemometric manipulation of the data so as to provide a rate of etching of the solid.

Method and apparatus for real-time dynamic chemical analysis

A system and method for providing notifications to a user includes an alert manager. The alert manager receives notifications of events occurring within various executing applications, and utilizes rules to determine when alert notifications should be sent to one or more specified users. In addition, operation of batch jobs can determine changes in state of selected data, which generate events for the alert manager in addition to those generated directly by an executing application. Alert notifications to users can be sent to the user via any of several communications channels.

Rules-based notification system

A system for selecting options for modifying a network architecture in accordance with user preferences using a knowledge base and a database. The knowledge base includes rules to select modification categories and the database includes information on a plurality of equipment and a plurality of tariffs. To select the options, the system generates a base-line simulation from the network architecture, which base-line simulation includes performance data on the network architecture under a predetermined scenario. Modification categories based on the user preferences are selected using rules in the knowledge base, and equipment information and tariff information corresponding to the network modification categories are selected from the database to create modification options for the network modification categories. The modification options are evaluated using rules in the knowledge base. The system then generates a plurality of new simulations of the network architecture as modified by the modification options, and compares the performance data of the base-line simulation with performance data of the new simulations to specify differences in performance data between the base-line simulation and each new simulation. Finally, the modification options (each corresponding to one of the new simulations) are ranked using the specified differences in performance data between the base-line simulation and each new simulation, user preferences, and rules of the knowledge base.

Embodiments of a vehicle storage cabinet which fits on the floor of the cargo compartment of a utility vehicle. Articles may be safely and securely stored or transported inside the vehicle storage cabinet and other articles may be stored or transported on top of the vehicle storage cabinet. Storage compartments are provided which are accessible through the top of the vehicle storage cabinet and other compartments are provided which are accessible only when the cargo compartment of the utility vehicle is opened. The vehicle storage cabinet is portable and may be transferred to and from the vehicle with relative ease.

A well point assembly is provided with a central, hollow, rectangular tube having a plurality of elongated slots extending axially from end thereof. Opposite ends of the tube are fitted in end members having complementary recesses with the slots being substantially longer than the recess in one of the end fittings to provide for the direct passage of water into and out of the tube. The hollow plastic tube has a plurality of slits therein surrounds the central tube and is secured to the opposite end fittings. The one way valve assembly is provided in the lower end fitting so that upon the passage of pressurized water through the central tube, the valve will be open to provide a water jet outwardly of the lower end and upon the application of a suction to the central tube, the valve will be closed and water will be drawn through the screen and the slots in the central tube to be pumped to the surface.

An oscillatory fluid pump is provided with a horizontally disposed cylindrical chamber disposed above and in communication with a rectilinear chamber along the entire length of both chambers. An inverted Y-shaped elastic member is secured at the lower ends of the downwardly angularly related legs to the bottom of the rectilinear chamber and the upstanding leg is secured to a cylindrical pumping member located in the cylindrical chamber. A cylindrical bore is eccentrically located along the length of the cylindrical pumping member of a drive shaft having an eccentric thereon extends through the bore and is supported at opposite ends by the housing. A bearing is located between the eccentric and the bore so that upon rotation of the shaft the eccentric will cause the cylindrical pumping member to move in a circular motion about the internal surface of the cylindrical chamber to pump fluid from an inlet in one side of the rectilinear chamber about the internal surface of the cylindrical chamber and outwardly through an outlet opening in the opposite side of the rectilinear chamber.

A volute type centrifugal pump has an impeller rotatably mounted in a volute chamber of the pump casing adjacent a cutwater within the casing. The impeller includes a hub having a pair of diametrically extending vanes with the outer end portion of each vane being angled in a trailing direction relative to the direction of rotation of the impeller. A semi-cylindrical projection having an axis parallel to the axis of the hub is formed on a trailing surface of each angled portion adjacent an outermost end thereof thereby reducing cavitation on the trailing surface of the impeller to reduce drag and turbulence while increasing pressure on the trailing surface. The surface of the semi-cylindrical projection is roughened to enhance hydraulic jump.

A reciprocating pump is provided with a flexible resilient cylinder which is mounted under tension between two end caps. The end caps are adjustably interconnected by means of a plurality of staybolts whereby the longitudinal tension on the cylinder may be adjusted. Interconnecting rods are provided between the legs of opposed bearing support members to maintain the rollers in positive engagement with the internal surface of the housing at all times.
