An electronic security bolt seal for locking a hasp includes an electronic module that has a circuit board disposed at an interior cavity of a housing. The housing includes apertures aligned with each other, such that a bolt is configured to be inserted through the apertures and through the interior cavity to engage the circuit board and complete an electronics circuit. When the bolt is inserted through the apertures of the housing, a locking device engages a tip region of the bolt that protrudes from the housing to secure the electronic module to the bolt. Responsive to a determination of breaking the electronics circuit, the circuit board is operable to generate a seal tamper signal. The locking element can be unlocked by a user to disengage the locking device from the bolt to permit the bolt to be removed from the electronic module and disengaged from the hasp.

Reusable bolt electronic seal module with GPS/cellular phone communications and tracking system

An electronics circuit first portion is entirely within an electronics module housing, sensing and transmitting a tamper condition of a normally locked bolt. The bolt comprises a second portion of the electronics circuit. The seal electronics circuit first portion comprises a seal monitoring, tracking and communications system. The bolt passes through the module housing and is secured with a locking device external the module such that the module is reusable when the bolt is severed. The bolt and module housing include a cooperative contamination sealing arrangement for sealing the bolt to the housing. The electronics circuit first portion includes RFID tamper detection circuitry, GPS, Wi Fi and cell phone communication and tracking technologies. The cell phone technology tracks the seal using cell phone towers and Wi Fi access points and communicates the seal tracked position and seal status data to a cell phone communications center.

A tamper evident security seal includes a locking unit and a bolt with a groove at its shank locking portion, the groove for receiving a resilient locking ring attached to a lock body in a locking unit receiving the bolt in a locked state. The locking unit includes two housing portions one of which has a top wall, a bottom wall and a first upstanding segment of a circular cylinder side wall interconnected thereto may be of any color. The top wall has an aperture for receiving the bolt therethrough. A mating second housing portion has a second segment of a circular cylinder side wall, preferably white having ID indicia thereon, forms a circular cylindrical housing with the first housing portion and is captured between the top and bottom walls. A lock body first element is plastic and molded one piece with the second housing portion. A lock body second steel element mates with the first element forming a lock body with an annular channel in which the ring is positioned. The channel and ring generally form a conventional bolt locking arrangement. A plastic transparent cover, enclosing the two housing portions, is bonded to the bottom wall. A collar on the top wall has two slots for receiving mating anti-spin tabs on the bolt shank.

Tamper evident bolt security seal

Disclosed is a reusable locking unit and a one time use electrically conductive molded thermoplastic shackle loaded with carbon black particles and having a linear resistance that is periodically monitored. The locking unit includes an integrated circuit for measuring shackle impedance through terminals capacitively coupled to the shackle. The terminals allow for adjustment of the length of the seal shackle in the locked secured state. The terminals and shackle form an RC network having a complex impedance that manifests the locked adjusted shackle length. Two AC signals at two different frequencies are used to measure impedance, which is compared with an initially determined or continually generated reference impedance to determine a tampered state of the shackle. Temperature compensation is also disclosed. A time stamp is stored for noting the tampering time of occurrence. A battery may be used to operate the circuit internal components and power from the remote transceiver may operate the circuit communication portion. Monitoring may be automatically periodic or activated only upon an external command. LEDs provide visual indication of the seal tamper status.

Electronic tamper evident seal

A bi-directional locking socket for use with a seal device which includes a shackle having a plurality of locking elements on a surface thereof. The socket comprises a locking insert forming a locking arrangement including a body defining a chamber therein. The locking insert further includes opposing top and bottom ends where the top end defines a top opening communicating with the chamber, and the bottom end defines a bottom opening communicating with the chamber. A plurality of mirror image spaced fingers define a passageway extending through the chamber. The plurality of fingers allow passage of the locking elements as a free end of the shackle is pulled through the passageway via either the top or the bottom openings in opposite insertion directions, and lock with a locking element of the shackle when the shackle movement is in an opposite direction to the insertion direction. In the alternative, the socket has a chamber with the locking arrangement formed one piece therewith.

Pull seal with bi-directional locking arrangement

A seal of the type having a housing with internal resilient fingers for receiving a shouldered stud in locking engagement, in which a separate cylinder is provided in the housing for closely surrounding the entire periphery of an end portion of the stud protruding beyond the resilient fingers to maintain the stud centered in the opening and prevent any lateral movement thereof, and thereby prevent attempts to open the stud by the insertion of tools to dislodge the resilient fingers from engagement with the stud. The cylinder surrounding the stud is inserted into the end of the housing remote from the stud-receiving end, and said remote end is then deformed with heat to retain the cylinder in the housing.

Seal

A locking structure for assembly onto existing electric meter boxes or the like, said structure comprising a bushing for mounting onto the box cover and an apertured bracket for mounting inside the box so that the bracket aperture is aligned with the bushing. The structure is intended to receive a locking cylinder of the type having an enlarged head and an elongated body portion with expansible locking balls near the end remote from the head, and the parts are dimensioned and positioned to retain the cover tightly closed when the locking cylinder is assembled. The bushing completely encloses the head of the locking cylinder so that the other end of the cylinder is recessed in the bushing. Apertures may be provided in opposite sides of the forward end of the bushing to receive a seal transversely across the bushing, so that the locking member cannot be removed without rupturing the seal.

Locking receptacle for electric meter box or the like

A locking cover for the ends of an electric meter retaining ring comprising a housing for assembly over the ends. The housing has an internal bracket with apertures aligned with a side aperture in the housing and positioned to be aligned with apertures in the outturned ends of the retaining ring to receive a locking member. The internal bracket retains the housing in position on the meter ring and prevents axial movement of the locking member and is so positioned that the outer end of the locking member when assembled, is spaced at or inside of the outer surface of the housing wall. A collar is assembled into the side aperture and extends outwardly therefrom. The collar is provided with apertures to allow a seal to be assembled across the collar over the end of the locking member disposed therein so that the seal must be broken to remove the locking member, and will provide evidence of attempts to remove the locking cover.

Locking cover for meter clamping ring

A security seal formed of molded plastic which is particularly adaped for use with articles closed by staples and hasps, such as are used on a strap closing the neck of a mail bag. The seal components are arranged so that the loop formed by the assembled seal strap may be tightened to a predetermined dimension and no smaller, with the tightening tension not being applied to the point at which the seal is designed to rupture. A finger loop is provided which extends from the loop formed by the assembled seal in such a manner that when the finger loop is pulled, tension is applied directly to the designed rupture point to facilitate removal of the seal.

A locking seal for use on doors of freight cars, trailer trucks and other large doors to prevent casual pilferage by non-professional thieves. In a first embodiment a length of steel cable is provided with means on each end for locking engagement with each other. In a second embodiment of the invention, a length of steel cable is provided with a stop on one end and the other end is provided with an assembly comprising a locking cap and means secured to the cable for receiving the locking cap in non-removable engagement. The locking means of either embodiment is adapted for rapid assembly without the use of special tools, yet the design of the two locking portions thereof gives the assembly a strength of engagement which is greater than the strength of the steel cable connecting the portions. The male portion of the locking means, when assembled, is completely enclosed within the female portion to protect the attachment of the cable to the male portion from physical damage. In the first embodiment, sufficient length of cable is provided between the two portions to provide a relatively large loop when the parts are assembled so that an attempt to break the seal by twisting the cable is sufficiently time-consuming as to hamper and discourage pilferage by non-professional thieves such as juveniles. In the second embodiment, the length of cable between the stop at one end and the locking assembly at the other is sufficient to enable the seal to be assembled through an article to be sealed, with sufficient excess length to make rupture of the seal by the use of pry-bars, hammers, or the like difficult or impossible.

Locking seal

A seal especially adapted for use on a fire extinguisher or other device, said seal providing visual evidence of operability and has means to prevent operation of the device until the seal is removed. The seal is formed of a single piece of molded plastic and is provided with an integral finger loop to facilitate removal. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the means preventing operation of the extinguisher is a rigid bar which extends through suitable locking apertures in the operating handle and handle support, and the seal means is a socket on one end of the bar and a shackle extending from the other end.
