The invention relates to a pluggable device combination for protecting against surges, having a socket-like bottom part of U-shaped cross section for receiving at least one plug module which accommodates a surge protection element, latching means which act between the plug module and the socket-like bottom part being provided, said latching means comprising first means which are formed on a biased joint on opposite sides of the plug module and respectively interact in a latching manner with associated second means on the bottom part, the latching connection being breakable by pressing the joint at the faces of the plug module, and the respective joint transitioning into an actuation area, the actuation areas additionally being formed opposite each other on the plug module in such a way that imaginary connecting lines between the actuation areas would form the shape of an at least approximate triangle.

At least one of the parallel conductor sections has a protrusion, a nose, or similar blocking element, which limits the path of movement of a mechanical display or switching element, such that the electromagnetic force acting on the parallel conductor sections during the flow of current transitions the blocking element into a release position in respect of the path of movement of the mechanical display or switching element. Arrangement for non-reversible detection and display of electrical overcurrents or current limit values by means of a pre-finished conductor

The invention relates to an overvoltage protection arrangement consisting of a horn spark gap accommodated in an insulating housing () having a deion chamber. A trigger electrode is located in the ignition area of the horn spark gap. A varistor is also present, electrically connected in series to the horn spark gap. According to the invention, a first and a second disconnection apparatus are formed in the housing, wherein the first disconnection apparatus () is in heat-conducting connection with the varistor and, when a limit temperature is reached or exceeded, releases a spring-loaded slide () which interrupts the series connection between varistor and horn spark gap. Furthermore, the second disconnection apparatus () comprises a fusible conductor which is located inside the deion chamber, for example, and can be exposed there to an arc, wherein the fusible conductor holds a spring-loaded disconnector element () in a first position and releases this disconnector element () when fused as a result of the effects of the arc in such a manner that the disconnector element () adopts a second position, wherein an electrical connection to the trigger electrode is interrupted when the second position is reached. A three-pointed, rotatably mounted star or a circular disc with lugs or prongs is formed in the housing such that a first star point () is carried along by the slide () as it moves to interrupt the series connection. In the same way, a second star point () is carried, as the disconnector element () moves, from the first to the second position, wherein each movement of the star results in a rotation of the star around its axis of rotation () with the consequence that a third point of the star () releases a spring-loaded pivoting lever () which operates a remote signalling contact () and/or a visual fault status display ().

The invention relates to a surge protection device, comprising at least one surge arrester and one thermally trippable switching device connected in series with the surge arrester, wherein the above-mentioned means form a structural unit and the thermal tripping means is arranged in the region in which heating of the surge arrester is to be expected on overloading thereof. The thermal tripping means is in the form of a stop part through which there is no operating or surge current flowing and which effects or enables unlatching of the switching device in the case of thermal overload. Furthermore, the stop part is coupled thermally and mechanically to a surface side of the surge arrester and blocks the movement path of a mechanically prestressed unlatching slide. In accordance with the invention, a contact platelet is inserted in the unlatching slide, said contact platelet producing an electrical connection between elements of the switching device and, with unlatching, the contact platelet is subjected to a shifting movement resulting in an interruption to the series circuit and movement of the unlatching slide into the space previously assumed by the contact platelet, wherein at least the section of that region of the unlatching slide which separates the elements of the switching device is insulating.

The invention relates to a surge protection device, comprising at least one surge arrester and one short-circuit switching device which is connected in parallel with the surge arrester, can be thermally tripped and is spring-pretensioned, wherein the abovementioned means form one physical unit. The thermal tripping means is arranged in the region where heating of the surge arrester is expected when it is overloaded, and operating or surge current does not flow through said thermal tripping means. The thermal tripping means is in the form of a stop part which releases an unlocking slide of the switching device in the event of thermal overload. The switching device has two opposite contact pieces, wherein at least one of the contacts is of moveable design and is under spring pretension in the closing direction of the switching device. The invention relates to an arrangement for forming a thermal isolation point, consisting of an isolation strip to which a prestressing force can be applied, an electrical means which produces thermal energy and has a contact surface, in particular in the form of an overvoltage protection element or a component of such an element, as well as an integral connection means, which changes when heated in a defined manner in the aggregate state, in particular a solder.
