A method for 'hands-on' identification on a steering system having two subsystems connected to one another by an elastic connection. The elastic connection has a static friction state and a sliding friction state for a respective set of external state variables. The steering system is excited by an excitation vibration, which is generated by a controllable vibration generator and has a respective excitation amplitude and a respective excitation frequency, for a respective set of external state variables, in which the respective excitation amplitude and the respective excitation frequency for the currently present set of external state variables are taken from a prescribed table and the vibration generator is controlled with them. A reaction torque to the excitation vibration is measured using a sensor. A phase difference between the excitation vibration and the reaction torque is calculated to identify a 'hands-off' state as well as a &#x201c;hands-on&#x201d; state.

Method and apparatus for 'hands-on' identification on steering systems

A method and device for interactive autonomous driving. A vehicle guidance controller is configured to detect, during operation of a vehicle in an autonomous operating mode, an order for intervention by a driver in a driving event on an input device, in particular a joystick. And, on denial of the order, the vehicle guidance controller is configured to determine at least one setpoint for the autonomous operating mode. The setpoint may influence a longitudinal guidance of the vehicle and/or a transverse guidance of the vehicle in the autonomous operating mode. The vehicle guidance controller is configured to control the vehicle autonomously in the autonomous operating mode depending on the setpoint.

Method and device for optimized autonomous driving, wherein a trajectory for the actuation of the vehicle is determined. A profile of the trajectory is defined by a bending line of a bending band. The bending line is preferably determined by the finite element method, in particular according to the principle of virtual shifting, and achieves an optimization goal and satisfies a boundary condition. The boundary condition is defined in accordance with a profile of a roadway for the vehicle. The optimization goal is defined by a desired driving property of the vehicle.

A method for friction coefficient determination on elastically connected subsystems, in which an overall system includes multiple subsystems and at least two subsystems are connected to one another by an elastic connection. The elastic connection has at least one static friction state and a sliding friction state for prescribed external state variables, in which the overall system is excited with a vibration having a variable excitation amplitude at a defined excitation frequency. The excitation amplitude is varied, in which a phase difference between the vibration and a measured reaction torque together with the excitation amplitude are recorded as a function of time, in which no phase difference occurs in the static friction state and a phase difference of 180&#xb0; occurs in the sliding friction state. In a first step, the excitation amplitude is increased until a transition in the phase difference from 0&#xb0; to 180&#xb0; indicates the transition from the static friction state to the sliding friction state.

Method and device for autonomous driving of a vehicle on a roadway in a direction of travel. A trajectory for driving on the roadway in the direction of travel is determined. A bending strip of limited length defines the trajectory, wherein the bending strip is fixed at one end thereof in a node which defines a starting point of the trajectory. A course of the trajectory is determined, starting from the starting point, in dependence on a bending line of the bending strip, which line extends, starting from the node, to the other end of the bending strip. A representation of a roadway boundary defines a boundary condition for the determination of the trajectory. A quality measure is defined in dependence on a property of the bending strip. The bending line which satisfies the boundary condition and for which the quality measure has an extremal value is determined.

Method for autonomous driving of a vehicle

A steering system of a motor vehicle has a steering wheel which engages a steering rack via a steering pinion of a steering column. A steering torque is exerted by a driver on the steering rack via the steering wheel. A steering torque assistance unit is provided and has an electric drive and a gear stage. A steering assistance torque is able to be exerted on the steering rack via the electric drive of the steering torque assistance unit. The electric drive engages the steering rack via the gear stage. Accordingly, at least one sensor determines by measurement a bearing force acting on a bearing of the steering torque assistance unit, the steering torque assistance unit generating the steering assistance torque in dependence on the steering torque exerted by the driver and in dependence on the bearing force determined by measurement.

Transport protection is provided for cable ends on compression struts of motor vehicles in which the cable ends protrude from hollow piston rods. In order to create transport protection which protects a cable end from damage, a pipe section is provided on the end of the compression strut at which the cable end protrudes from a hollow piston rod. The inside of the pipe section accommodates the rolled-up cable end and has an inside diameter selected to be greater than the outer area of the end region of the piston rod.

A bearing for a shock absorber element of a motor vehicle via an elastomer element on a vehicle body is provided, whereby the bearing consists of a cover and a bearing plate to be mounted on the vehicle. The elastomer element is accommodated in a recess in the bearing plate. To create a bearing for a shock absorber element of a motor vehicle that is simple to manufacture and install, the elastomer element is arranged in a housing configured as a bearing plate and sealed by a cover. The cover is configured so that, in the installed state of the bearing plate, it is supported on the vehicle body. In the uninstalled state, however, the cover sits loosely on the bearing plate and the elastomer element, so that the elastomer element is essentially not under any prestress.
