An air suspension system of a commercial vehicle comprises an electronic control device with a level control valve device. A valve element is coupled to a drive element mechanically coupled to a vehicle wheel or axle. In a first relative position of the valve element and a counter valve element, a port for an air suspension bellow is blocked. In a second relative position, the port for the air suspension bellow is connected to a port for an aeration device. In a third relative position, the port for the air suspension bellow is connected to a port for a deaeration device. Control logic generates a control signal for an actuator which, when a level change is set by an operator, correspondingly changes the relative position of the valve element and the counter valve element or the relative position of the counter valve element and a valve housing.

Electronic control device and control circuit for an air suspension system of a commercial vehicle

A mechanically actuated level control valve device for a commercial vehicle with an air suspension system is a level control valve and comprises a drive element that can be mechanically coupled to a vehicle wheel or axle. A valve element and a counter valve element have a first relative position, wherein the port for the air suspension bellow is closed, a second relative position, wherein the port for the air suspension bellow is connected to the port for the aeration device, and a third relative position, wherein the port for the air suspension bellow is connected to the port for the deaeration device. The valve element is coupled to a rotatable driveshaft of the level control valve by a drive mechanism. An integrated actuator changes the relative position of the valve element and the drive element or the relative position of the counter valve element and a valve housing.

Mechanically actuated leveling valve mechanism

The invention relates to a lift axle valve unit of any type for lifting or lowering a lift axle of a utility vehicle having an air suspension. According to the invention, the lift axle valve unit comprises a heating device. By means of the heating device it Is possible to heat the lift axle valve unit when using the utility vehicle in regions and in wintertime with low temperatures. The heating device comprises a heating element built with a heating rod or a heating mat.

Lift axle valve unit

The present invention relates to a coupling head for coupling a towing vehicle to a trailer. According to the invention, in the coupling head a filter element is used. The filter element is bypassed by a continuously open by-pass. Preferably, the path through the by-pass has at least one redirection in the region of an undercut. As a result of the redirection, contaminants in the compressed air are not or not fully transferred through the by-pass. The by-pass might also ensure a supply of compressed air to the trailer, for example, when the filter element is at least partly blocked due to the contaminants. According to the invention, a valve element used to open the by-pass in the case of increasing blockage of the filter element is not required.

A pneumatic switching valve () for systems for lifting and lowering the body of a vehicle including air suspension includes a mechanical actuation element () for adjusting a lifting position, a lowering position, a driving position and a stop position associated with respective positions of the vehicle. An inlet valve (), an outlet valve () and a locking valve () each include a valve body (), a tappet () and a closing spring (). The inlet valve () and the outlet valve () are arranged in one common plane to face in opposite directions. The closing springs () of the inlet valve () and of the outlet valve () also serve to move the actuation element () from the lifting position or from the lowering position to the stop position when the operator releases the actuation element (). A control piston () having an axis perpendicular to and spaced apart from the axes of the inlet valve () and of the outlet valve () includes a plurality of cam surfaces () for actuating the valve bodies () of the inlet valve (), the outlet valve () and the locking valve (). The control piston () is subjected to compressed air to move the switching valve () from the stop position to the driving position. The control piston () is designed and arranged to be rotated from the stop position to the lifting position or to the lowering position.

Pneumatic switching valve for systems for lifting and lowering the body of vehicles including air suspension

A control system is designed to lift and lower the body of an air-suspended vehicle including an axle and level control. The system includes a source of compressed air, a plurality of air-suspension bellows each being associated with at least one axle and being designed and arranged to adjust a desired distance between the body and the axle, a path sensor being designed and arranged to sense and determine the distance between the body and the axle and to create and deliver a respective electric signal, a switching valve unit having a lifting position, a lowering position, a driving position and a stop position, an electronic control unit being designed and arranged to control the switching valve unit in response to the electric signal delivered by the path sensor, a first conduit branch being located between the source of compressed air and the air-suspension bellows, a second conduit branch being located between the source of compressed air and the air-suspension bellows, at least one level control valve located in the first conduit branch, and at least one locking valve being located in one of the conduit branches and including a spring, the locking valve being designed and arranged to be electrically switched to reach a first position and to be switched by the spring to reach a second position. The first conduit branch is designed and arranged to be activated in the second position, and the second conduit branch being designed and arranged to be activated in the first position.

Control system for lifting and lowering the body of an air-suspended vehicle including level control

A service brake actuator having a housing base having a center portion and a housing cover having a center portion is provided. The center portion of the housing base and the center portion of the housing cover telescopingly fit together in an assembled position and define an annular space therebetween. A diaphragm having a thickness greater than the thickness of the annular space between the center portion of the housing base and the center portion of the housing cover is held in the annular space by radial forces generated by compression of the diaphragm in the annular space. It should be understood that the magnitude of the radial forces holding the diaphragm in the annular space is variable depending on the thickness of the annular space.
