An inner conductor contact for connecting one end of a braided inner conductor of a coaxial cable with one end of an inner conductor of a coaxial plug, with the inner cable conductor enclosing a core which is retracted relative to the end of the inner cable conductor, includes a support element insertable in the inner cable conductor and having the same diameter as the core. The support element is adapted for connection with the core at the core-near side thereof via a bolt and with the inner plug conductor at the core-distant side thereof by means of a prolongation which is connected to the support element via a conical shoulder and thus is of smaller diameter than the support element. The part of the inner cable conductor extending along the shoulder and prolongation is surrounded by a metal bushing which receives the respective end of the inner plug conductor to provide the electric connection between the inner cable conductor and the inner plug conductor.

Inner conductor contact for coaxial cables with braided inner conductor

A coaxial cable fitting includes a metal bush receiving a cable end of a coaxial cable and adapted for making electric contact with the outer conductor of the coaxial cable, a contact clamp placed over the cable end of the coaxial cable and defining an annular end face about which a section of the outer conductor is bent outwardly and a screw element threadably engageable with the metal bush for urging the contact clamp against the metal bush to thereby press the outwardly bent section of the outer conductor against a radial shoulder of the metal bush wherein the contact clamp is securely received against rotation in the metal bush at least in its end position.

Coaxial cable fitting

A plug-type inner conductor connection includes a rigid metallic socket and a plug which is insertable into the socket and includes a radially resilient forward portion of reduced outer diameter which ends at an annular shoulder defining a stop for the front end face of the socket. In order to attain accurate centering of the plug within the socket and an even contacting over the circumference, the forward portion of the plug is surrounded by a contact cap which has a base fixedly connected to the plug and a wall so shaped to impart a resiliency in radial direction and with an outer diameter which is at its greatest value at or in the area of the edge of the contact cap in vicinity of the annular shoulder.

Coaxial plug-type inner conductor connection

A transmitter/antenna bay for selectively connecting at least two coaxial lines of a plurality of coaxial lines via flange sockets incorporated in the front panel of the transmitter/antenna bay includes a locking apparatus for latching the housing of a pluggable coaxial transmission line or coaxial switch with the front panel. The locking apparatus includes lever locks arranged at the narrow sides of the housing at a level of the flange socket. Each lever lock comprises an approximate L-shaped hook with a short leg grasping behind a continuous collar of the flange socket in locking position of the hook and with a long leg which is swingably mounted and guided for longitudinal displacement. The long leg of the hook is articulated to one arm of a two-armed locking lever which is pivoted to a support. Defined between the point of articulation of the hook to the locking lever and the collar in the area which is engaged by the short leg is a line of action which extends on one side of the pivot pin in locking position and on the other side of said pivot pin in disengaged position so as to attain a self-locking mechanism.

Transmitter/antenna bay

A switch drive for a rotary switch includes a driven shaft at its input and a switch drive shaft at its output. The input shaft supports a lever for transmitting the movement of the input shaft to a pinion fixedly connected to the lever. The pinion rolls along an internal toothing and supports an engaging member which is in slidable engagement with a switch arm connected to the switch drive shaft.

Switch drive for a rotary switch

A connecting element for waveguides includes two waveguide sections which are contacted with each other via a bent choke of two sections and mechanically connected so as to allow a longitudinal displacement, tilting and rotation relative to each other. One waveguide section is provided at its circumference with an axial annular groove extending radially outside the axial section of the choke and the second waveguide section is provided with a circumferential collar projecting at least in an axial direction and engaging in the annular groove.

Connecting element for waveguides

A waveguide twist includes at least three waveguide sections which are connected to each other and rotatable about their longitudinal axis usually by a same angle. Each waveguide section with the exception of the first waveguide section and the last waveguide section supports externally a lever which has two axial ends engaging in grooves of adjoining waveguide sections so as to be longitudinally displaceable to allow distribution of the total angle of rotation over the waveguide sections.

Waveguide twist

A transmitter/antenna plug-in board for selectively connecting coaxial lines via flange sockets attached in a front panel includes a transmission line connection manually pluggable on the flange sockets and being provided with a straight inner conductor in form of a strip conductor. Each flange socket has an outer conductor contact flange and an inner conductor which projects beyond the outer conductor contact flange and is contacted by the inner conductor of the transmission line connection. Suitably the carrier safety loop is guided over the transmission line connection with one plug unit being mounted to the front panel and the complementary plug unit being attached to the outer conductor of the transmission line and including at least one short-circuiting bridge.

Transmitter/antenna plug-in board

An antenna matrix switch bay includes a housing which is subdivided in a plurality of chambers defining a matrix configuration of coaxial transmitter switches and coaxial antenna switches provided with opposing fixed contacts in row direction and column direction. Each chamber of the housing contains one single switch whereby one transmitter switch and one antenna switch define a node and have a common switch drive shaft perpendicular to both planes. The switch drive includes a straight switch member in each plane and a double-cranked switch member insulated from the switch members and connecting the fixed contacts of one plane with those of the other plane.

Coaxial RF switch matrix

A connector for a coaxial line with corrugated outer conductor or a corrugated waveguide tube includes a metal casing which has an internal circumferential groove accommodating a radially elastic helical spring ring of conducting material. The helical spring ring surrounds the outer conductor of the coaxial line or the waveguide, respectively, and is loaded in axial direction by a thrust member so as to contact a radial annular contact surface of the metal casing.

A connector for coaxial lines with corrugated outer conductor or for corrugated waveguide tubes includes a metal casing in which an elastic plastic ring is accommodated for supporting a conductor. The plastic ring is sandwiched between the metal casing and a fastener such as a coupling ring or hollow screw, after threadably engaging the latter to the metal casing and thus becomes axially compressed and widens radially to create a form closure with the conductor.

A sealed cable connector includes a plug or coupler with a sleeve extending over the cable end and surrounding a strain relief ring, contoured annular seal and a thrust collar. The seal includes an outer ring and an inner ring which are connected with each other by a radial bridge. During assembly, the thrust collar and the strain relief ring cooperate with each other in such a manner that upon axial displacement of the thrust collar toward the strain relief ring by means of a screw plug turned into the sleeve, the bridge becomes sheared off thereby compressing the inner and outer rings within the respective inner and outer spaces between the thrust collar and the strain relief ring while at the same time the thrust collar presses the outer cable conductor against a contacting face of the sleeve.

Sealed cable connector

A coaxial-line connector includes a jack having an outer conductor and an inner conductor part divided in at least two segments and arranged in said outer conductor. Clamped in the inner conductor part defining the jack is an inner conductor part forming the plug. At least one pressing screw is arranged in a radial bore of the outer conductor to exert a radial clamping force on the segments to attain a reliable and tension-proof connection between the inner conductor parts. The setscrew is accessible so as to allow an adjustment of the clamping force.

Coaxial-line connector

A transformation device for connecting waveguides of different cross section includes a waveguide element which is provided with at least two successive transforming sections and has a rotationally symmetrical recess extending in axial direction over all transforming sections. Inserted in the recess along a respective portion thereof are a plurality of insulating rigs so that one of said transforming sections adjoining the connection plane with one of the waveguides is defined by said recess while subsequent transforming sections are defined by the insulating rings of corresponding varying inner diameter.

Transformation device for connecting waveguides

A switch drive for a rotary switch includes a toothed gearing which is driven by an electromotor at its input and is provided with a switch drive shaft at its output. For obtaining a high switching speed upon soft initiation and especially soft termination of the switching process, the switch drive shaft 14 is connected in a rotation-fixed manner with a switch arm 12 which is engaged by an engaging member 10 supported eccentrically by a gear 6. The gear 6 is driven by the electromotor via a pinion 5. The engaging member 10 is arranged eccentrically to the switch drive shaft 14 such that the engaging member 10 describes with respect to the circle as described by the switch arm 12 either a hypocycloid or an arc with characteristics of an epicycloid.
