The present invention relates to an airbag cover, in particular for a motor vehicle, comprising a decor layer () having a decor side () forming an observation area, which borders the space in which the airbag deploys if the need arises, and an airbag side () opposite to the decor side. The decor layer further has a weakening () in the region of a tear line for deploying the airbag, which extends from the airbag side of the decor layer such that the decor layer is substantially intact on the decor side. The air bag cover of the present invention further has at least one second layer () which may be designed as spacer mesh, the second layer being attached to the airbag side of the decor layer () and which also has a weakening region () along the tear line. In order that the weakening in the decor layer () remains permanently invisible from the decor side (), an intermediate layer () is further provided in the airbag cover of the invention which is arranged between the decor layer and the second layer. The intermediate layer is substantially intact in the region of the tear line and connected to the decor layer so that it can take up or compensate forces in the plane or parallel to the plane of the decor layer at least in the region of the weakening of the decor layer. Contrary thereto, the intermediate layer is designed such that it easily tears open substantially perpendicular to this plane under the influence of force.

Airbag cover

The invention relates to a device for holding objects, preferably a telephone, in particular for use in a center arm rest and/or the center console of a vehicle, with a frame or receptacle and a reversibly closable lid which is mounted so that it may be swiveled in each case about one of the rotary axes arranged in the region of the upper closing edges of the side walls of the frame or container and lying essentially parallel to the closing edges. The lid has an opening and closing mechanism which is arranged in a function carrier frame that may be connected to the lid. In addition, the invention relates to a method for the production of a device for holding objects, in particular for use in a center arm rest and/or the center console of a vehicle.

A hinge arrangement for a cover element in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, for example a hinged cover for a glove compartment or a CD player compartment is disclosed. The cover can be pivoted from a closed position into an open position about a pivot axis. The hinge arrangement includes an arrangement whereby the cover may be displaced (for example, substantially transversely to the pivot path) during the pivoting movement.

A vehicle door trim for a motor vehicle with a head impact protection device for a vehicle occupant is provided. In one embodiment, the door trim includes a curb carrier, a head impact protection device, a foam layer over the curb carrier and a decorative layer on the side of the foam layer facing away from the curb carrier. The curb carrier may include at least one fixing attachment for fixing the head impact protection device in an area in the assembled position of the vehicle door trim that is close to the side window of the vehicle door as well as a cover area that covers the head impact protection device. The head impact protection device may include as a module, an airbag carrier, an airbag and a gas generator. The foam layer may be sufficiently elastic to deform on actuation of the head impact protection device. The cover area of the curb carrier may have a material weakening which may be adapted such that on actuation of the head impact protection device the cover area may tear open in the area of the material weakening.

Vehicle door trim and method for the manufacture thereof

A vehicle door trim for a motor vehicle with a head impact protection device for a vehicle occupant is provided. In one embodiment, the door trim includes a curb carrier of the vehicle door trim in which is located a cutout for fixing the head impact protection device in the assembled position of the vehicle door trim in an area close to the side window of the vehicle door, a head impact protection device, which comprises an airbag carrier joined to the curb carrier so as to be airtight, an airbag, which on the rim side is fixed to the airbag carrier so as to be airtight, and a gas generator, which may be permanently joined to the airbag carrier. The vehicle door trim covers a foam layer over the curb carrier and, in the area of the cutout, over the airbag carrier. A decorative layer on the side of the foam layer facing away from the curb carrier is provided. The foam layer is designed so that on actuation of the head impact protection device, it may lift easily from the airbag carrier.
