A system is provided for tempering, or controlling the temperature of a printing machine to maintain a desired temperature by the use of a cooling device. The cooling device prepares, on a first output, a tempering medium having at least one first desired temperature level, for a first supply current of the tempering medium for the components whose temperatures are to be controlled. The cooling device provides a first cooling process which can be carried out by a first fluid circuit. Tempering medium, which is to be cooled to a tempering temperature that is below the ambient, or an external temperature, are provided. A second cooling process is carried out by a device for cooling a second fluid circuit which is different from the first fluid circuit, by the use of outside air. The supply circuit, that is used to convey the tempering medium of the desired temperature, to the component whose temperature is to be controlled, can be coupled, in a thermal manner, to both of the cooling processes by the use of at least one heat exchanger.

Systems for tempering components of a printing machine

A printing unit is comprised of at least two cylinders which cooperate with each other in a printing group. At least one of these at least two cylinders is movably mounted so that it can be positioned against the other of the at least two cylinders by the use of at least one actuator, which is preferably configured as a power-controlled actuator. A control device is provided and in which several different preset values, which represent different levels of contact force between the two cylinders, are stored. Such data storage is in accordance with a criterion which concerns machine data and/or consumed material data and/or operational data. This data is usable to position the cylinder by operation of the actuator.

Printing groups are each comprised of at least two cooperating cylinders, each of which is mounted in a bearing unit that radially displaces its associated cylinder. At least one of these bearing units is provided with an actuator which is controlled, or regulated by a control unit. An inking unit, which encompasses at least one ink application roller, is provided for each printing group. At least one of the cylinders of the printing group, and an ink application roller of the associated inking unit can optionally be placed against each other. A dampening unit, comprising at least one dampening fluid application roller, is also provided. At least one of the cylinders of the printing group and a dampening fluid application roller of the dampening unit are also optionally placed against each other. The at least one actuator for the bearing unit is remotely controlled and is embodied either as a hydraulic actuator or as a pneumatic actuator.

A printing group of a printing press is comprised of a transfer cylinder, a forme cylinder and a first roller of an inking unit. That first inking unit roller cooperates, as an ink application roller, with the forme cylinder. The inking unit is provided with two axially traversing friction cylinders which are serially disposed in the ink path to the forme cylinder. The first inking unit roller has substantially the same diameter as the forme cylinder.

Printing groups of a printing press

An assembly in a printing unit of a rotary printing press includes at least one plate cylinder, three ink form rollers, two vibrator rollers and an ink separator roller. Both of the vibrator rollers are applied directly to the ink separation roller. One of the ink form rollers is applied to both one of the vibrator rollers and the plate cylinder. The secondary two ink form rollers are applied both to the other vibrator roller and to the plate cylinder. The plate cylinder is covered with several printing forms. An upper ink form roller is located such that a horizontal line that is tangent to the circumference of that upper ink form roller is positioned at a vertical decline of at least 50 mm from a horizontal line that is tangent to the circumference of the plate cylinder.

An inking unit of a rotary printing press includes a film roller. The film roller has a structured outer surface that has a Shore D hardness ranging between 80 and 90 and a stochastic surface. The stochastic surface is incorporated into the outer surface of the film roller by peening.

A printing unit has at least one press unit having a plate cylinder with at least one printing plate that can be mounted on the plate cylinder and which carries a printing image. The plate cylinder has at least one cylinder channel in which ends of the printing plate can be fixed or positioned. The printing plate has a leading angled end and also has a trailing angled end, as viewed in the direction of rotation of the printing cylinder during operation of the printing press. The printing plate can be secured to the plate cylinder by insertion of the plate leading end into the cylinder channel and by insertion of the plate trailing end into the same, or another cylinder channel. Initially, the plate trailing end is fixed in its associated cylinder channel and the plate cylinder is rotated in a rotational direction counter to a production direction. The leading plate end is then fixed in its associated cylinder channel during continued rotation of the plate cylinder opposite to a production direction. Once the printing plate is secured, the printing cylinder is rotated in its production direction.

At least two blankets which are removed from the same cylinder of a printing machine one after the other, are stored in a storage device. The blankets are drawn off the cylinder in a longitudinal direction and are stored in the device at an angle of inclination of not more than 15&#xb0; relative to the horizontal. The second blanket to be drawn off is stored below the previously drawn-off blanket at a distance that is vertical along its length.

A web-fed rotary printing press is structured having two end-surface defining side frames. At least one printing unit, with at least two cooperating printing unit cylinders, is supported between these side frames. At least one of the at least two cooperating cylinders is pre-assembled as a cylinder unit that has side frames and face engaging bearing unit. The at least one printing unit can be placed between the side frames as the one-piece cylinder unit comprising the structural cylinder.

A rotating member of a printing press is typically a cylinder that is provided with a circumferential area. A securement channel or a flow channel, which is at least partly open toward the circumferential area of the cylinder, is formed in the cylinder. A method is used to set a contact pressure between a displaceable roller and another roller or for moving the displaceable roller with respect to the other roller. At least one actuator is subjectible to the action of a pressure medium and presses the displaceable roller toward the other roller with an adjustable force. The pressure of the pressure medium can be adjusted by a valve. A switchover device is provided for use in connecting the valve to different actuators, as desired.
