The invention relates to a method for operating a computer system. The inventive method allows best possible utilization of the efficiency of a concrete target hardware by providing in a program alternative passages of which exactly one is selected for execution by the processor by means of a code.

Method for operating a computer system

In the field of automation technology, processes, which are controlled by stored program controllers (), are divided into modules, which are also known as function blocks. If possible, these function blocks should be used universally. The interfaces of these modules are different from or independent of the technological parameters of the actual technical function. It is a problem for the user to have access to internal knowledge of the program in order to implement the controller () for a specific application. To address this and other problems, a programming tool and programming method for creating programs are disclosed, which will provide the user (), either additionally or alternatively, with technological insight into a process that is to be controlled and/or regulated. An interface () is connected between the user () and the stored program controller (), and a plurality of input masks () is offered to the user () for inputting technological parameters of the process. Therein a respective input mask () is assigned to at least a part of the function blocks.

Programming tool and programming method

A method for organizing the execution of electronically controlled switching processes, in which sequential and/or parallel steps (S to S ) are activated by preset transition conditions (T to T ) and are deactivated by the advancement of the execution. During the activation of a step (S to S ), respectively inadmissible parallel steps are deactivated, each of the respectively inadmissible steps previously having been documented in a stored matrix.
