An assembly with a blood pump and a control unit to control the flow rate at the blood pump includes a device that is designed to deliver a parameter of the breathing cycle or a parameter associated with the breathing cycle. In this way, it is also made possible for a parameter that correlates to the breathing cycle to be used to control the blood pump, in order to proactively prevent problems associated with the drainage.

The invention relates to an oxygenator with a housing wall, defining a housing chamber with a blood inlet and a blood outlet, a gas inlet and a gas outlet, and also with a heating element which is arranged in the oxygenator between the blood inlet and blood outlet in order to control the temperature of the blood flowing through the housing chamber. The oxygenator also comprises an electric connection and the heating element has an electric resistor which is designed as a wire. The invention also relates to a method for controlling the heat emission at the heating element of an oxygenator by measuring the flow of blood through the oxygenator and the power of a pump influencing the flow, with the heating power being adjusted in accordance therewith.

The invention relates to a portable gas exchange device for gas exchange of at least one gas from a liquid to a fluid. The gas exchange device comprises a first gas exchange section, for passage of a fluid, and a second gas exchange section for passage of a liquid enriched with a first gas, wherein the fluid has a lower concentration of the first gas than the liquid. A pumping system for transporting a first fluid with a lower concentration of a first gas in the first gas exchange section, in particular in a first fluid circuit, is also configured in the gas exchange device. In a mixing chamber configured in the gas exchange device, the first gas exchange section and the second gas exchange section adjoin one another via a wall designed such that at least the first gas can pass through. A housing serves as the common receptacle at least of the pumping system and the mixing chamber.

The carrying device further includes a fastener which is designed to fasten a portable gas exchange device. A device for treating a biological liquid has a housing with a first chamber defining a cavity and which is adapted to receive a liquid to be treated. At least one gas exchanger is at least partly disposed in the first chamber. An inlet portion is formed in a first surface of the housing for the inlet of the liquid to be treated into the chamber. The inlet portion is formed at an acute angle relative to the surface of the housing. Such a device allows a gas exchange in a lung assist method for example.

The present invention relates to an appliance for cannulation of a blood vessel with a cannula which, after introduction into the vessel, is in fluidic communication with the vessel. At least one means is also provided to permit a controlled division of the blood into a first subsidiary stream which leaves the vessel through the cannula, and a second subsidiary stream which continues to flow through the vessel.
