A device for ultrasonically welding metal parts includes a sonotrode whose head can be excited by a vibration generator to produce vibrations. The sonotrode is connected to the vibrator with a screw connection provided on one side of the sonotrode. The sonotrode head may have at least one welding surface relative to the torsion axis on the circumference side. An anvil having a counter/compacting surface may be arranged opposite the welding surface of the sonotrode in a stationary position. The welding surface and the compacting surface may delimit a compaction space to receive parts to be welded. The entire sonotrode may be excited to produce torsional oscillation with a negligibly small longitudinal vibration component.

Device for torsionally welding metal parts by means of ultrasound

The invention relates to a device () for welding metal parts by means of ultrasound, in particular for welding strands, comprising a sonotrode () having a sonotrode head (), which can be excited by an oscillation generator () to perform torsional oscillations with respect to a torsion axis (B). The sonotrode head () comprises at least one welding surface () relative to the torsion axis (B) on the circumference side. Furthermore, an anvil () having a counter/compacting surface () is provided, which can be arranged opposite the welding surface () of the sonotrode () in a stationary position relative thereto. In the case of an opposite arrangement, the welding surface () and the compacting surface () delimit a compaction space () in a direction perpendicular to the torsion axis (B), said space being provided to receive the parts to be welded. The sonotrode () is designed, and coupled to the oscillation generator (), in such a manner that the entire sonotrode () can be excited to perform torsional oscillation with a negligibly small longitudinal oscillation component.

The invention relates to a torsion sonotrode (S) having a contact surface () for transferring a torsional oscillation directed about a torsion axis (T) onto a component () to be welded. To ensure that the welded joint has a uniform strength, it is proposed according to the invention that the contact surface () has a flat stop surface () which runs substantially perpendicular to the torsion axis (T) and from which elevations () of insular design extend with a pointed form.

Torsion sonotrode and ultrasonic welding process using a torsion sonotrode

The invention relates to a tool for an ultrasonic welding device, wherein a contact face of a carrier body () produced from a metal facing a component to be welded is provided with a diamond coating (). To improve the durability, it is proposed in accordance with the invention for the diamond coating to be produced by means of CVD methods and to have a thickness (D) in the range from 0.5 to 20 &#x3bc;m.

Tool for ultrasonic welding device

An apparatus for strapping a packaged item using at least two strapping elements, which can be placed crosswise on the packaged item. A transport unit moves the packaged item into a strapping position a guide device for the strapping elements. The guide device arranges the strapping elements around the packaged item and defines intersecting areas of movement for the strapping elements. A binding device inserts and/or tensions the strapping elements and connects overlapping areas of the strapping elements. In order to permit the strapping of a greater number applications, a connection mechanism is provided to connect the strapping elements in the immediate environment of a crossover location of the strapping elements and/or at the crossover location of the strapping elements. It is also possible to effect the connection using a single sealing stamp.

Apparatus for strapping a packaged item

An apparatus for strapping a packaged item using at least two strapping elements, which can be placed crosswise on the packaged item. A transport unit moves the packaged item into a strapping position a guide device for the strapping elements. The guide device arranges the strapping elements around the packaged item and and defines intersecting areas of movement for the strapping elements. A binding device inserts and/or tensions the strapping elements and connects overlapping areas of the strapping elements. In order to permit the strapping of a greater number applications, a connection mechanism is provided to connect the strapping elements in the immediate environment of a crossover location of the strapping elements and/or at the crossover location of the strapping elements. It is also possible to effect the connection using a single sealing stamp.

An apparatus for hooping a package is described, in which the band in its end position, applied to the package and tensioned, defines a hooping plane which extends in the conveying direction. A band guide channel in the form of a plane, rectangular frame intersects the hooping plane at an acute angle in an intersection line at right angles to the conveying direction. The otherwise customary binding head has a stationary device for holding fast and joining the band loop ends and for separating the oncoming band, and a pivotable device separate therefrom for the insertion and pulling-back of the band. The pivotable device has a pivot axis substantially coinciding with the intersection line. On the insertion of the band into the band guide channel said pivotable device is situated in the frame plane and is pivoted into the hooping plane before or during the pulling-back of the band.

Apparatus for hooping a package

An apparatus is described for hooping a package (8) by means of a band (19) in a hooping plane (5) extending in the conveying direction (4). The band guide channel (7) comprises two portions (10, 13) which lie on opposite sides of the hooping plane (5) and each of which is situated at so great a distance from the hooping plane (5) that they do not impede the conveying movement of the package (8). The portions (10, 13) are joined together, on opposite sides of the package (8), by other portions (9, 11 and 12) which pass through the hooping plane (5). In a position turned through 90.degree., in which the hooping plane (5) lies parallel to the conveying plane (1), the arrangement can also work as a horizontal hooping apparatus.

Apparatus for hooping a package by means of a band

An apparatus for strapping a cuboidal package by means of two intercrossing straps encircling the package in cross-sectional planes at right angles to one another. Two strap guide frames which, in respect to their frame plane, are disposed at right angles to a horizontal delivery plane extending in their clear frame opening, serve to transport the package, the strap being adapted to be guided, in each of the guide frames, around the clear frame opening. Associated with each strap guide frame is a device for inserting the strap into the strap guide frame and also for tensioning, locking, and cutting off the strap laid around the package.
