A convertible vehicle having a displaceable top and a top storage space, which can be closed using a storage space cover, as well as a wind deflector, which is displaceable between a retracted stowage position and at least one erected function position and can have an inner frame on which a wind deflector function element is spanned. The wind deflector can have an outer frame, to which the inner frame is pivotably mounted and which is pivotably mounted to the storage space cover.

A convertible top of a cabriolet vehicle includes a convertible top rod assembly movable between a closed position spanning a vehicle interior and a storage position. The top rod assembly includes a link arrangement on opposing sides of the assembly. The link arrangement includes a main link and a main column pivotably mounted on a main bearing, and a front-side first link element and a second link element. The second link element is rearward of the first link element in the closed position and connected to the first link element by a joint arrangement, wherein the first link element being pivotable relative to the second link element by an actuating link extending along the second link element. A knee lever arrangement connected to the first link element, the second link element, and the actuating link includes a closing bolt.

A top of a convertible vehicle includes a top linkage adjustable between a closed position and a storage position. The top linkage is stored in a rear-side top storage space, which is closable by a storage space lid, which is pivotably mounted on a vehicle-fixed single-part or multipart main bearing via a link mechanism on each of its two sides with respect to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top. The top linkage has a linkage mechanism on each of its two sides with respect to the vertical longitudinal center plane of the top. Each linkage mechanism is pivotably mounted on the respective vehicle-fixed main bearing driven by a main drive arranged on the main bearing. The link mechanisms of the storage space lid are arranged on both sides and driven by the main drive arranged on the respective main bearing.

The space adjusting device may have a body having a first thickness at a first end and a second, greater thickness, at a second end; an inner surface configured to conform to an exterior contour of the first component and an exterior surface opposite the inner surface and configured to conform to the contours of the second component; the body having at least two sections each having a different thickness between the inner and exterior surfaces; wherein the thickness of the at least two sections increases in step wise manner from the first end to the second end of the body.

Modular roof assemblies for vehicles

A convertible top of a cabriolet vehicle includes a convertible top rod assembly, which can be adjusted between a closed position spanning the vehicle interior and a storage position. The top trod assembly includes a link arrangement on both sides of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the convertible top. The link arrangement includes a main link and a main column, which are pivotably mounted on a vehicle-fixed main bearing, and a front-side first link element and a second link element, which is arranged rearward of the first link element in the closed position and is connected to the first link element by a joint arrangement. The first link element can be pivoted relative to the second link element by an actuating link extending along the second link element and can be secured against pivoting relative to the second link element in the closed position by a locking element. The locking element is mounted to rotate and interacts with a closing bolt and is adjustable between a locked position and an open position. The closing bolt is arranged on the actuating link.

A top of a convertible motor vehicle includes a linkage movable between a closed position spanning a vehicle interior and a storage position uncovering the vehicle interior to the top A linkage arrangement having first and second pivot components is on opposing sides of the linkage and pivotably mounted at a rear main bearing. A rotatable drive wheel is coupled to the two pivot components. When the drive wheel is rotated, the first pivot component is always subjected to a drive torque, whereas the second pivot component, as a function of the position of a control element in a control slot that is fixed relative to the main bearing, is either held in place or is subjected to a drive torque.

A top for a convertible vehicle having at least one roof element, which is displaceable in relation to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the roof, is guided slidably in the longitudinal direction of the roof on both sides at one guide rail, respectively, said guide rail being arranged at a respective lateral roof beam, a rear roof cassette being displaceable between an erected position for adjoining, in the rear, to the lateral roof beams in the longitudinal direction of the roof and a storage position that is lowered with respect to the former position and the roof cassette accommodating the roof element in the uncovering position thereof, as well as a sealing arrangement that is arranged in the region of the roof opening and seals a vehicle interior off with respect to a vehicle environment in the closed position of the roof element.

A cabriolet top having a top linkage which can be adjustable between a closed position, in which it spans a vehicle interior space, and an open position having at both sides of a vertical vehicle longitudinal central plane, in each case one link arrangement assigned a closure unit which can be adjusted by means of an actuating device between a locking and unlocking position and which, in its locking position in the closed position of the top linkage, secures a front bow, which connects the two link arrangements to one another, to a front cowl of the vehicle by means of a locking hook. The locking hook can be connected via a first joint to a first locking link pivotable about an axle fixed to the front bow and via a second joint to a second locking link pivotable about an axle fixed to the front bow.

A modular roof assembly includes a pair of side rails configured for attachment to longitudinal roll bar members of a vehicle frame by at least one fastener. The side rails extend a direction along a length of the vehicle frame and include at least one guideway to slidably receive transverse tensioning bows and a track car for a soft top and include at least one attachment member adapted to latchably receive at least one hard top panel.

A vehicle convertible top having a linkage arrangement on both sides with respect to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the convertible top, the link arrangement being pivotably mounted on a main bearing fixed to the vehicle and serving to adjust a convertible top element between a lifted operating position and a lowered storage position. The link arrangements can each have a lower four-joint arrangement having two base links pivotably mounted on the respective main bearing and an upper four-joint arrangement which has two adjusting links pivotably connected to the convertible top element, the base links and the adjusting links being hinged to a coupling link that forms part of the two four-joint arrangements, and one of the base links being connected to one of the adjusting links via a control link so that the upper four-joint arrangement is coupled with the lower four-joint arrangement in a positively controlled manner.

A vehicle construction having one roll bar respectively on both sides relative to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the vehicle construction and a convertible roof, the roll bar extending in the vehicle longitudinal direction and supporting itself in the rear region of the vehicle construction, and the convertible roof being displaceable between a closed position spanning a vehicle interior as well as the roll bars and an uncovered position uncovering the vehicle interior to the top and including a linkage, which can have a link arrangement on both sides, pivotably mounted at a main bearing fixed relative to the vehicle construction. The main bearings and/or the link arrangements each include at least one bridging element, which reaches over the respective roll bar and to which at least one link of the link arrangement is linked.

An actuating device for an adjustable convertible top system of a motor vehicle includes at least two hydraulic drive cylinders. A first drive cylinder transmits an adjustment movement to a first gearing arrangement, and a second drive cylinder transmits the adjustment movement to a second gearing arrangement. The first drive cylinder and the second drive cylinder are connected hydraulically in series, such that an annular volume of the first drive cylinder is in fluid communication with a circular volume of the second drive cylinder via a connecting line. There is a difference between an annular area of the first drive cylinder forming the annular volume and a circular area of the second drive cylinder forming the circular volume. Intermediate gears having a different geometry and/or kinematics compensate for a speed difference between the two drive cylinders resulting from the difference.

Actuating device for an adjustable convertible top system of a motor vehicle

An openable vehicle roof is proposed, comprising a roof element, which is slidable in the vehicle longitudinal direction and extends in the roof transverse direction, and which is adjacent to a stationary vehicle portion in its closed position, as well as one guide rail respectively on both sides relative to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the roof, an actuating device for the roof element being guided in said guide rail, by means of which actuating device the roof element can be moved in the roof longitudinal direction and which actuating device includes a driven locking hook, the pivoting of which causes a vertical offset of the roof element with respect to the stationary vehicle portion between the closed position and an open position and which is engaged with a locking element in the closed position, wherein the roof element is pivotably mounted at a main slider via two support links and the roof element is displaced between the closed position and the open position by means of a coupling link, which is articulated to the locking hook.

A cabriolet vehicle having an opening hood which is displaceable between a closed position spanning the interior of the vehicle, and a stowage position which opens up the top of the vehicle interior and which comprises a hood frame which comprises a frame arrangement on each side in relation to a vertical vehicle longitudinal center plane wherein the frame arrangement is mounted pivotally on a main bearing fixed on the vehicle at the rear end and in the closed position of the hood engages through a frame opening arranged in a vehicle edge area wherein the opening can be covered by means of a flap arrangement when the hood is in the stowage position, as well as a locking arrangement which secures the hood in its stowage position.
