A dual-polarized multiband antenna includes first and second radiating element modules having first and second dipole elements. First dipole elements are positioned at right angles to one another to transmit and/or receive radiation in the first frequency band range with two linear orthogonal polarizations. The dipole elements form a dipole square. The second radiating element module transmits or receives radiation in a second frequency band range higher than the first frequency band range. The second module has dipole elements orthogonally related to one another and aligned parallel or at right angles to the first dipoled elements. The second dipoles are arranged in a cruciform.

Dual polarized multi-range antenna

A dual-polarized antenna system is provided for transmitting or receiving electromagnetic waves. The antenna system has at least one cruciform radiating element module that is aligned using dipoles or in the form of a patch radiating element, at angles of &plus;45&deg; and &minus;45&deg; with respect to vertical. The antenna system further has a conductive reflector arranged in the back of the at least one radiating element module. Two conductive side wall sections are provided on each side of the at least one radiating element and are disposed vertically. At least one slot is provided in each side wall section at the level of the radiating element module and extend in parallel to the reflector plane.
