The cooling air guide includes an inlet-side air guide portion, which extends from a housing inlet into the battery tray as far as an air outlet from the battery tray, and an outlet-side air guide portion, which leads from the air outlet of the battery tray to the drive motor and, from there, onwards to a housing outlet. The control device is designed for controlling a target speed of the drive motor in accordance with a setting of the motor operating element in at least one first operating mode and one second operating mode. In the first operating mode, the target speed increases over at least one segment from a minimum of 0.5 times the adjustment range as the setting increases, wherein the increase changes over the segment by a maximum of 60%. In the second operating mode, the target speed is a minimum of 0.9 times a maximum target speed of the second operating mode as the setting increases from a maximum of 50% of the adjustment range.

A power cable is connected with its first end through an electrical connection to the battery and with the second end to the drive motor to supply the drive motor with power. An elastic securing element is connected by a fastening element to the housing. A connecting device connects by a mechanical connection the securing element to an operator of the power saw. The connecting device has an overload protection separating the mechanical connection between securing element and operator when a maximum pulling force is surpassed. Securing element and power cable form a cable assembly. A pull-out force for separating the electrical connection is smaller than the maximum pulling force.

A hedge trimmer having a drive motor, a gear mechanism, and a blade arrangement with at least one cutter bar, which is driven in a reciprocating manner by the drive motor via the gear mechanism in a longitudinal direction. The blade arrangement includes a guide mechanism that extends over at least a part of the length of the blade arrangement. The guide mechanism is embodied as a molded part that includes a generally flat fastening portion and a profiled guide portion. The cutter bar is longitudinally movably held on the guide portion.

A hedge trimmer having a rear handle, a tubular handle and a blade arrangement with at least one cutter bar disposed in a cutter bar plane. An internal combustion engine drives the cutter bars in a reciprocating manner, and has a combustion chamber and a crankshaft mounted in a crankcase so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation. The combustion chamber faces the rear handle, and the crankcase faces the blade arrangement. The blade arrangement has a longitudinal central axis, and the hedge trimmer has a longitudinal plane that is disposed parallel to the axis of rotation of the crankshaft and transverse to the cutter bar plane. The longitudinal central axis of the blade arrangement lies in the longitudinal plane of the hedge trimmer.
