A hydraulic vehicle brake with a parking brake device, in particular for motor vehicles, includes a brake housing in which a hydraulic service pressure chamber is delimited by a brake piston, wherein hydraulic pressure fluid can be applied to the hydraulic service pressure chamber for carrying out service brake operations so that the brake piston is actuatable along a longitudinal piston axis in order to achieve a braking effect. The parking brake device acts on the brake piston with an actuating device, which actuates a rolling-element ramp-type gear with an electromechanical actuator. In order to achieve a higher rate of overall efficiency as well as a reduced electric energy consumption, a two-step gear is interposed between the electromechanical actuator () and the actuating device (), wherein the first gear step () on the inlet side is connected to an output shaft () of the electromechanical actuator () and the second gear step () on the outlet side is connected to the rolling-element ramp-type gear ().

A camera system generates image data from the surroundings of the vehicle. The present invention relates to a friction brake, in particular a disc brake, for a motor vehicle with a friction element, e.g. a brake disc, coupled to the rotation of a vehicle wheel, forming a friction pairing of the friction brake with at least one associated brake lining, and with at least one clamping device for pressing at least one brake lining to the friction element. At least one controllable friction clutch is provided for using the rotational energy of the friction element in order to obtain the clamping force of the friction brake, the friction clutch being coupled on its input end to the rotation of the friction element and on its output end to the clamping device. Functional advantages are achieved because a friction pairing of the friction clutch is provided independently of the friction pairing of the friction brake. This eliminates undesired mutual influences. Altogether, such a friction brake obviates the need for an additional energy source for generating a brake clamping force.

An actuating unit for an electromechanically operable disc brake for automotive vehicles including a driving unit or an electric motor, an actuating element secured against rotation and causing one of two friction linings that are arranged slidably in a brake caliper to move into engagement with a brake disc, as well as a reducing gear interposed between the electric motor and the actuating element. A brake system for automotive vehicles with electric drive is operable by an actuating pedal and uses hydraulic friction brakes to augment the braking effect generated by the electric drive motors. The coaction of the drive motors with the hydraulic friction brakes is controlled by an electronic controller. In order to largely conform the pedal characteristics of the mentioned brake system to that of a standard passenger car, an actuating pedal (5) is in force-transmitting and travel-transmitting connection with a spring (8) exhibiting a predetermined characteristic curve, and the master brake cylinder (11), uncoupled from the actuating pedal (5), is operable by an electromagnet (9) which is responsive to the controller (70). If the master brake cylinder accommodates two pressure cheers, a single valve is arranged in or on the master cylinder housing, and acts as both a bypass valve and a differential-pressure valve.

The invention is related to a spot-type disc brake with a stationary brake carrier (19) at which a floating caliper (1) is slidingly guided which straddles the edge of a brake disc (10), with two brake cylinders (11, 12) which are positioned on the internal axial side of the brake disc (10) aside each other and whose brake pistons (13, 14) act on the brake shoes (5, 7) which are arranged on the same axial side and in circumferential direction of the brake disc (10) at a distance from each other. According to the invention a third brake shoe (6) is fixed on the external axial side of the brake disc (10) to the floating caliper (1), which brake shoe is positioned staggered in such a manner that its friction area point of gravity (36) comes to be arranged substantially between the other two brake shoes (5, 7) in the circumferential direction of the brake disc (10). Braking noises and brake rubbing are eliminated by this arrangement. Further advantages of the inventive brake are constituted by its ease of serviceability in view of an ease of mounting of the brake shoes (5, 6, 7) and by its floating caliper (1) which allows to be manufactured with ease and at but low cost and with but little material, and which simultaneously with a low weight affords an elevated stiffness and a large brake disc diameter.
