The present invention relates to a combination for the treatment of osteoporosis and/or the prophylaxis and treatment of bone fractures, said combination comprising collagen, an additional peptide, a calcium-containing substance and a wetting agent with a terminally functionalized oligolactone. The invention also relates to artificial bones and implants produced by the combination and to the use of said combination for fixing implants and treating osteoporosis and/or the prophylaxis and treatment of bone fractures. The invention further relates to a method for producing artificial bones and implants.

Treatment of osteoporosis

The invention relates to a fixation device for bones, consisting of all implant (), having at least one through hole (), to be fastened to the bone, and of at least one bone screw () to be fastened in said through hole (), fastening elements () being arranged in the through hole () and at the top end of the bone screw () and engaging with each other. In order to allow various angular positions of the bone screw () relative to the implant () without cold welding, interlocking earns () are arranged on the associated surfaces of the through hole () and the bone screw () as the fastening elements ().

An implant for insertion between a pair of spaced vertebrae has two interfitted parts relatively shiftable along an axis and having outer ends turned axially away from each other and each formed with an axially outwardly directed part-spherical convex surface. Formations such as a screwthread engaged between the parts can axially shift them relative to each other and lock their axial positions relative to each other. Respective L-shaped mounting brackets each have one leg extending transversely across the axis and formed with a part-spherical concave seat complementary to and fitting with a respective one of the part outer ends and another leg extending generally axially outward. The brackets are adapted to be fitted to the vertebrae. Fasteners secure each of the other legs to the respective vertebra.
