The acrylic acid esters of Formula I are useful for the delivery of organoleptic compounds, especially for flavors, fragrances, masking agents and antimicrobial compounds. They can also deliver fluorescent whitening agents.

A method of preparing enatiomerically enriched 3a,6,6,9a-tetramethyl-dodecahydro-naphtho[2,1-b]furan, formula (I), from (E,E)-homofarnesic acid or (E)-monocyclohomofarnesic acid by (a) reacting firstly with a chiral alcohol, (b) reacting the product of (a) with an acid to cause a first cyclization, (c) producing an alcohol by reacting the product of (b) with a reducing agent and (d) causing a second cyclization by reacting the product of (c) with an acid. The product of this process gives a mixture of both enantiomers with one in excess. 

Process for the preparation of optically-active compounds

A preparation for oral administration, in which plant material is comminuted and treated by mixing thoroughly with an extractant. After mixing, porous inorganic particles are added to the resulting suspension, thoroughly mixed with mixture and dried. The preparation provides a homogeneous distribution of the active ingredient as well as long stability and good bioavailability of the active ingredient.

Preparation for oral administration

The present invention relates to a novel thermo-isomerization method for rapidly and simply producing macrocyclic ketones of the formula Ia or Ib. The macrocyclic ketones are prepared in the gas phase at temperatures above 500&#xb0; C. rapidly and in a simple manner from alcohols of the formula IIa and IIb directly with a high yield. In the formulae Ia, Ib, IIa and IIb, R1-R5, and n have the meanings given in the description.

Fragrance precursor compounds

The invention relates to fragrance precursors, In particular, the invention relates to the use of several classes of compounds which may act as fragrance precursors, e,g., in cosmetic products such as deodorants and antiperspirants and in laundry products such as detergents and fabric softners. These compounds are odorless, but upon contacting the skin as example, in skin care compositions or in personal care compositions, produce fragrances. The compounds also produce fragrances when used in the presence of lipases, e.g. as used in (laundry) detergents, thus providing a prolongation of the fabric scenting effect. Fragrance precursors

The invention includes (6E)- and (6Z)-isomers of 3,6-dimethyloct-6-en-1-ols and 6-ethyl-3-methyloct-6-en-1-ols and their mixtures.
