A labeling machine for producing respective multipacks, the multipacks comprising a group of products secured together by a label. The labeling machine includes a conveyor that comprises a conveyor module for forming a group of products from a plurality of individual products and for providing the group of products to a labeling process to produce a multipack of products. The labeling machine includes at least one labeler. The conveyor module comprises at least two conveying units which each conveying unit comprising at least one carrier. The movement of the conveying units may be individually controllable allowing two carriers on different conveying units to cooperate as a fixing unit. A method of producing respective multipacks, which each comprise a group of products, using the labeling machine is also provided.

The present invention relates to a labeler for applying labels to packages. The labeler can include a transport unit for transporting the packages, a label dispenser for applying a sealing label to a web-shaped rim of each of the packages, and a press-on device having a circularly movable pusher plate. The present invention also relates to a method of operating such a labeler, where the press-on device is provided for folding the sealing label around the web-shaped rim laterally to each package and for pressing the label onto the package.

The present invention relates to a labeler comprising a label dispenser used for applying an adhesive label to a folded product and a press-on device following the label dispenser in the conveying direction of a conveyor system. The press-on device comprises two press-on units, wherein one of the press-on units is reversibly drivable by means of a motor.

The present invention relates to a winding reel for a label dispenser and a method allowing a roll of a wound-up label carrier tape to be easily removed from the winding reel. A first rod of the winding reel is connected to a rotating element in a movable manner and at least two additional rods are connected to the rotating element in a stationary manner. An operating element is pivotably arranged on the free ends of the two stationarily arranged rods, where the operating element is connected to the free end of the first rod and configured such that it causes a deflection of the free end of the first rod in the direction of the rotary axis.

A method and device for the multi-lane and multi-row application of labels on articles such as packages or the like, which are guided in parallel lanes, in which the labels are dispensed from a backing film by a label dispenser, taken up by a conveyor belt, which is guided transversely over the lanes and transferred by a transfer device from the conveyor belt onto the articles. The labels are transferred in consecutive rows from the conveyor belt to a section of a transfer belt which extends transversely to the conveyor belt over and beyond the lanes, until a set with a specified number of label rows on this transfer belt section is completed and the transfer belt, during an advance of the lanes, is driven to dispense the set of label rows onto the articles.

A method for applying labels in rows on a tape, which can be driven by a tape driving mechanism, for which the labels are deposited in consecutive rows at an applicator, disposed stationary at the tape, on the tape, the tape being advanced partially after or during the deposition of a row of labels by a length section at the applicator in that, by a movable tension, a pull loop is pulled out of the path of the tape downstream from the applicator, while the section of tape, located upstream from the pull loop, is kept stationary, and the tension can be moved stepwise between a starting position and an end position and that, during the partial advance, a step is traveled by the tension roller, the length of which is adjusted by a control mechanism.

Method for the serial application of labels on a tape

A labeling device includes a conveyor belt for taking up a row of labels, and two label dispensers, each for dispensing labels from a dispensing sheet over a dispensing edge onto the conveyor belt. The label dispensers are disposed one behind the other, the dispensing edge of a rear one of the dispensers being shifted, so that the dispensing edges of the two label dispensers are one above the other. The conveyor belt is guided over a belt deflector for changing the course of the belt between two positions as to the dispensing edges, the belt deflector including a tilting lever, over which the conveyor belt is deflected and which can be swiveled between two positions. The conveyor belt is in a first position for taking up labels at the first dispensing edge and in a second position, for taking up labels at the second dispensing edge.

Labeling device

A method for applying labels on articles, which are guided in parallel lanes, for which in each case a row of labels is dispensed by a label dispenser from a backing, taken up by a transfer path guided transversely over the lanes and transferred in a transfer step onto the articles, the transfers step comprising the moving of a lifting tool, extending along a section of the transfer path onto article lanes for pressing the labels onto the articles and the return of the lifting tool into its starting position. The dispensed labels are taken up at a point of the transfer path, which is at a distance from the lifting tool, and the dispending of a row of labels is commenced before the step of transferring a previous row of labels is concluded.

An apparatus is provided for applying adhesive labels, that are initially coupled together end-to-end in a label strip that has a non-adhesive backing material, onto a product. The apparatus has a frame with a supply container mounted thereto for containing a supply of the labels. A plurality of guide rollers is provided for guiding the strip of labels through the apparatus. A label sensor is mounted to the frame for detecting when an individual label has been moved past the label sensor. The frame further has mounted thereto an applicator head equipped with a stripper plate for removing the backing material from the label strip, which is thereafter wound onto a take-up container. The label strip and the removed backing material are moved with a supply motor that is mounted to the frame. The applicator head further has an applicator motor for rotating a break-away roller. Mounted directly beneath the break-away roller is an idler roller that cooperates with the break-away roller to hold a separated label in position. A product sensor is provided to detect a product needing to be labeled by the applicator head. Further a process is provided for separating an individual label from a series of labels and for applying the label to a product. The first step of the process involves detecting the presence of a product needing a label. Next, a first motor on the apparatus is activated to feed a label, held between a break-away roller and an idler roller, onto the product. A second motor is activated simultaneously with the first motor to feed a forward-most label from a strip of labels into the area vacated by the previous label. A backing strip is then peeled from the strip of labels as the forward-most label is fed forwardly by the second motor, thus exposing an adhesive material on the back of the strip of labels. The process further involves monitoring the label strip being advanced and determining when one complete label has been advanced. Next, when one complete label has been advanced, the first and second motors are deactivated, and a brake is applied to the label which immediately precedes the forward-most label, and the first motor is reactivated to separate the forward-most label from the remaining strip of labels.
