A method performing an agricultural task on a field, the method comprising: identifying a number of plants in the field on a per unit area; determining a field pattern of plant maintenance for the plants in the field, the field pattern comprising: a planting instruction for travel in a first direction; and a plant maintenance instruction for travel in a second direction which is not parallel to the first direction, the plant maintenance instruction generated using at least one parameter corresponding to the number of plants in the field on a per unit area.

A method of storing harvested crop material in a silo includes loading the harvested crop material into a container of a transport vehicle in a field. The container includes a discharge system that is operable to unload the crop material, and which is controlled via an electronic control device. The crop material is transported from the field to the silo with the transport vehicle. The crop material is unloaded from the container of the transport vehicle directly into the silo with the discharge system. The electronic control device automatically controls at least one of the transport vehicle and the discharge system while unloading the crop material to form a harvested material layer in the silo having a predetermined layer thickness.

An arrangement for data recording and sampling for an agricultural machine includes a sensor set-up arrangement to detect properties contained in a material stream, means of taking a sample of the material from the material stream, and an electronic control unit. The control unit is configured to perform the following steps in response to a tripping signal: (a) instruct an actuator to bring the means into a position for sampling; (b) starting a recording of raw sensor arrangement data in a memory; (c) after depositing the sample at a desired sampling location, stop recording the raw data and instruct the actuator to return the means from the sampling position to an inactive position; and (d) store identification data to identify the sample together with the raw data in memory.
