A button-type secondary battery includes an electrode assembly having a first electrode with a first electrode tab and a second electrode with a second electrode tab; a can accommodating the electrode assembly and to which the first electrode tab is connected; a top cap coupled to an opening of the can and to which the second electrode tab is connected; and a first insulation member insulating the first electrode tab. The first electrode tab includes a first coupling surface coupled to the first electrode and a second coupling surface extending from the first coupling surface and coupled to the can. The first insulation member includes a first insulator attached to an outer circumferential surface of the electrode assembly to cover the first coupling surface, and a second insulator horizontally extending from an upper end of the first insulator toward a top surface of the electrode assembly.

Button-type secondary battery

A button-type secondary battery includes an electrode assembly; a lower can into which the electrode assembly is disposed; and an upper can configured to cover an opening of an upper end of the lower can. A beading part recessed inward is disposed at an upper portion of the lower can. The upper end of the lower can disposed above the beading part has a bent shape and configured to surround an edge end of the upper can so that the upper can and the lower can are coupled to each other.

A button-type secondary battery includes an electrode assembly; a lower can having an accommodation space in which the electrode assembly is accommodated; an upper can coupled to the lower can to cover the accommodation space; a gasket sealing a gap between the lower can and the upper can and to electrically insulate the lower can from the upper can while being inserted into a coupled portion of the lower can and the upper can; and a first electrode tab including a first coupling part coupled to a first electrode of the electrode assembly and a second coupling part coupled between the gasket, which is disposed at the coupled portion of the lower can and the upper can, and the upper can. The second coupling part is coupled between the gasket and the upper can by a pressure generated when the lower and upper cans are coupled to each other.

A button-type secondary battery according to the present disclosure includes: an electrode assembly; a lower can configured to accommodate the electrode assembly; an upper can coupled to an opening of the lower can; a gasket configured to insulate a coupling portion between the lower can and the upper can; and a center part provided at a core portion of the electrode assembly, wherein the center part includes: a center pin inserted into the core portion of the electrode assembly; and an upper plate provided with an upper cover surface provided on an upper end of the center pin to protect an upper portion of the electrode assembly, wherein an edge of the upper cover surface is provided to be supported on an inner wall of the lower can.

The present invention relates to a secondary battery, in which a sealing property is improved, and a method for manufacturing the same. The secondary battery includes: a can member having an opening; a top cap assembly sealing the opening; a gasket insulating the opening from the top cap assembly; and a hot melt applied to a surface of the gasket, wherein the hot melt has fluidity and viscosity at a predetermined temperature or more and is hardened at a temperature less than the predetermined temperature.

Secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same

The present invention relates to a secondary battery capable of improving venting pressure distribution. A secondary battery including an electrode assembly, a can member that accommodates the electrode assembly, and a top cap assembly that covers an opening of the can member. The top cap assembly includes a top cap positioned at the uppermost portion and a safety vent part positioned below the top cap. The safety vent part includes a rupture portion that is ruptured when an internal pressure within the can member equals or exceeds a predetermined pressure, a rupture notch portion that defines a boundary of the rupture portion, and a bending notch portion which is spaced apart from the rupture notch portion toward a center of the rupture portion on a bottom surface of the rupture portion, and the bending notch portion is bent when the internal pressure within the can member increases.

Secondary battery

The disclosed secondary battery is capable of preventing a short-circuit pressure at which the safety vent is ruptured from being reduced due to deformation of the safety vent during assembly of the battery. The secondary battery of the present invention includes a can member accommodating an electrode assembly and a top cap assembly covering an opening of the can member. A safety vent is provided in the top cap assembly to discharge a gas when an inner pressure of the can member increases, wherein the safety vent includes a main body and a bending unit, in which an outer edge of the main body is bent, and wherein a buffering space is defined between the bending unit and the main body.

A cylindrical battery cell includes a jelly-roll type electrode assembly, configured to have a structure in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are wound in a state in which a separator is disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; a cylindrical battery case having no beading part; a cap assembly located at the open upper end of the cylindrical battery case, the cap assembly including a safety vent configured to rupture in order to exhaust gas when pressure in the battery case increases; a gasket mounted so as to surround the outer circumference of the safety vent in order to maintain insulation between the cap assembly and the cylindrical battery case; and a washer for fixing the cap assembly to the cylindrical battery case, the washer coupled to an upper surface of an outer circumferential portion of the open upper end of the cylindrical battery case.

Disclosed herein is a pouch-shaped secondary battery including a micro-perforated electrode lead having adhesive properties that is capable of enabling a short circuit to occur in the pouch-shaped secondary battery using the adhesive properties of the micro-perforated electrode lead with respect to a pouch-shaped battery case in order to secure the safety of the pouch-shaped secondary battery when the pouch-shaped secondary battery swells due to gas generated in the pouch-shaped secondary battery while the pouch-shaped secondary battery is in an abnormal state or when the pouch-shaped secondary battery is overcharged. Current is prevented from flowing in the pouch-shaped secondary battery when the pouch-shaped secondary battery is overcharged or when the pouch-shaped secondary battery is in an abnormal state.
