Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for the integration of a rules engine with message oriented middleware. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for managing a messaging component in message oriented middleware has been provided. The method includes creating shared memory in the memory of a computer and adding or deleting tokens in the shared memory corresponding to objects such as messages and message queues, created in and removed from, respectively, in a messaging component of message oriented middleware. The method additionally includes applying rules in a rules engine to the tokens in the shared memory. Finally, the method includes directing management operations in the messaging component responsive to the applied rules by the rules engine.

Message oriented middleware with integrated rules engine

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for recovery of a two-phase commit transaction. A computer receives an end command prior to completing execution of a prepare command for a transaction identifier. The computer determines if a failure and restart occurred within a distributed data processing environment after a resource manager receives an end command. The computer responds to a determination that the failure and restart did occur within the distributed data processing environment by retrieving the first transaction identifier from a data store. The computer transmits a rollback command for the retrieved first transaction identifier to the resource manager.

Recovery of a transaction after XA end

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for recovery of a two-phase commit transaction. A computer transmits a first transaction identifier to a data store, wherein the first transaction identifier defines a two-phase commit transaction. The computer transmits a prepare command for the first transaction identifier to a first resource manager. The computer determines if a failure and restart occurred within a distributed data processing environment, wherein the failure and restart occurs after the first resource manager receives an end command, but prior to completing execution of the prepare command for the first transaction identifier. Responsive to determining the failure and restart did occur within the distributed data processing environment, the computer retrieves the first transaction identifier from the data store. The computer transmits a rollback command for the retrieved first transaction identifier to the first resource manager.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system, and program product for heap management using dynamic memory allocation. The method comprises receiving, via a computing device, a memory request associated with a memory block, wherein the computing device has a double linked list of fixed sized memory blocks and a double linked list of variable sized memory blocks; and wherein each memory block includes a value field and a header field, which includes one or more of a backward link, forward link, and memory block size indicator that includes a first bit and a second bit. The method further comprises determining a scope of the received memory request, which can be a request for memory allocation or memory deallocation. Further still, the method comprises servicing the received memory request.

Heap management using dynamic memory allocation

Durable subscriptions in publish/subscribe messaging are provided. A durable subscription is received for a subscribing application. The durable subscription includes a parameter defining persistence for which a subscription is to be durable. It is detected whether the subscribing application is disconnected. In response to detecting that the subscribing application is disconnected, a filter is applies to messages to determine whether a message meets a defined persistence requirement. Only persistent messages are retained for delivery once the subscribing application is reconnected.

Durable subscriptions in publish/subscribe messaging

A method for executing a plurality of processing requests performed by a physical computing system that is programmed to execute the processing requests for clients includes, with the physical computing system, assigning an identification number to a new processing request; with the physical computing system, placing the new processing request into a process eligible group if the identification number of the new processing request meets a criterion; and with the physical computing system, placing the processing request into a queued group if the identification number of the processing request does not meet the criterion.

Processing request management

Remote tracing from a local data processing node of the execution of a process within an application program running on a remote data processing node in a distributed data processing network. The application program includes its own local trace facility and the nodes communicate by asynchronous messaging via mailboxes. Each node includes process-provate interrupt handling means for indicating the presence of a command for the respective process in the mailboxes.
