Various embodiments provide methods and apparatus for forming intermediate transfer belts (ITBs) by combining a dip-coating process with a UV-curing process. In an embodiment, an ITB substrate can be immersed into a liquid coating composition contained in a dip tank and then withdrawn from the liquid coating composition. When exiting the dip tank, the coated substrate can enter a UV-curing chamber for a UV-curing process. Multiple cycles of dip-coating and UV-curing can be performed such that a desired ITB substrate coating layer thickness can be obtained. After coating the ITB substrate, the UV-cured coating composition can be released from the ITB substrate, wherein the UV-cured coating composition released from the ITB substrate forms the intermediate transfer belt.

Process for fabrication of seamless UV cured intermediate transfer belts (ITB)

Described herein is a method of forming a seamless transfer member suitable for use with an image forming system. The method includes spray coating a UV curable polymer and conductive particles onto an inner surface of a rotating cylindrical mandrel. The UV curable polymer is cured with ultra violet energy. The cured UV polymer is removed from the cylindrical rotatable mandrel.

Seamless intermediate transfer member process

Provided are coating compositions for imaging components, methods of forming imaging components, and imaging components such as, for example, intermediate transfer belts, transfer belts, bias charge rolls, bias transfer rolls, and a magnetic roller sleeve. An exemplary imaging component can include an ultraviolet (UV) cured composite, the UV cured composite including a plurality of conductive species substantially uniformly dispersed in a UV cured acrylate polymer, wherein each of the plurality of conductive species can be selected from a group consisting of salts of organic sulfonic acid, esters of phosphoric acid, esters of fatty acids, ammonium salts, and phosphonium salts, and wherein the UV cured composite can have a surface resistivity in the range of about 10&#x3a9;/square to about 10&#x3a9;/square.

Intermediate transfer belts

Exemplary embodiments provide an intermediate transfer member that can include a plurality of carbon nanotubes dispersed in an ultraviolet (UV) curable polymer in an amount to allow a bulk curing of the UV curable polymer and to provide the cured polymer an electrical resistivity and/or a mechanical modulus useful for electrostatographic devices and processes.

An electrophotographic photoreceptor and method for forming a photoreceptor is disclosed which is provided with an anticorrosion layer on the interface between the supporting substrate surface and the undercoat layer. The photoreceptor has a high mechanical strength and minimizes defects in print for longer periods of time.

The presently disclosed embodiments relate in general to electrophotographic imaging members, such as layered photoreceptor structures, and processes for making and using the same. More particularly, the embodiments pertain to the incorporation of thiophosphates in the anticurl back coating to reduce or eliminate static charge buildup in the imaging member and to improve image quality.
