A method and system for dynamically personalizing an aircraft is provided. Users of an aircraft store their environmental preferences in a file on a storage device. When the users use the aircraft or ride on the aircraft, the aircraft computer system communicates with and uploads the users' files containing the users' environmental preferences. The aircraft computer system then implements the users' preferences by configuring a system of modules.

Real time and in-flight dynamic personalization of an aircraft

The present invention includes systems and methods for dynamic allocation of computing resources. Computing resources on an aircraft are divided amongst several avionics applications that are responsible for controlling sub-systems on the aircraft (e.g. the navigation system). A resource manager assigns computing resources (e.g. processor cycles) to individual applications based on the present condition of the aircraft and then instructs the throttling mechanisms to allocate the computing resources among the applications. The resource manager determines the aircraft condition by correlating inputs from the aircraft to a set of rules stored in a condition table. The resource manager then determines the computing resource allocation by correlating the aircraft condition to a set of resource allocations stored in an allocation table.

Dynamic resource allocation

The present invention includes system and methods for managing information systems on an aircraft through the use of a remote management center. At the management center, the status information from aircraft computer systems is monitored for fault conditions. The management center then performs maintenance on the computer system when a fault condition is noticed. Exemplary systems include a remote management center that manages several different computer systems on several different manned aircraft. The management center connects to the aircraft and computer system through data links.

Remote management of aircraft computer systems

An integrated airborne broadband data and television system is disclosed. The integrated system includes an aircraft mounted pointable antenna unit. Further, the integrated system includes pointing command electronics providing pointing commands to the antenna unit. The pointing commands are based on requested access to one of data services and television services. Further, the disclosed integrated system includes a processing unit directing signal information to one of a data transmitter receiver and a television signal receiver decoder unit.
