A cold cathode electronic device capable of removing pollution of emitter electrodes occurring during manufacturing of the device, to thereby enhance emission characteristics of the emitter electrodes and luminous efficiency of a phosphor layer. The cold cathode electronic device includes hydrogen occlusion metal incorporated in a gate electrode and/or an anode electrode. A field emission luminous device and a cold cathode luminous device each including such a cold cathode electronic device are disclosed.

Cold cathode electronic device

A vacuum envelope that can improve the vacuum degree in a field emission device is provided. The vacuum envelope includes the cathode side substrate on which field emission elements are formed and the anode substrate spaced by a predetermined distance in the electron emission direction. At least two openings are formed before sealing the vacuum envelope. The remaining gas is ousted from the vacuum envelope by introducing a high temperature gas inside the vacuum envelope for a predetermined period of time. Thereafter, one of the openings is sealed while the envelope is being evacuated to a vacuum state through the remaining openings.

Fed flushed with hot inert gas

A vacuum container for a field emission cathode device capable of attaining manufacturing of the field emission cathode device with increased efficiency and enhancing durability thereof. The vacuum container includes a cathode-side substrate on which field emission cathodes are formed and an anode-side substrate arranged so as to be spaced from each other at a predetermined distance in a direction in which electrons are emitted, resulting in a space being defined therebetween. A gas or hydrogen emission material is arranged at at least one position including a position which is defined in said space or an additional space contiguous to said space and is farthest from said evacuation section.

Vacuum container for field emission cathode device

A vacuum container capable of arranging a getter member therein while preventing an increase in overall height of an envelope and therefore the vacuum container. An anode substrate on which anode electrodes providing a display section are formed and a cathode substrate on which field emission cathodes are formed are arranged opposite to each other and sealedly joined to each other through an outer periphery thereof, to thereby provide an envelope. The cathode substrate is formed with a through-hole communicating with an interior of the envelope. The through-hole has a getter member received therein. The cathode substrate is provided on a portion of an outer surface thereof at which the through-hole is formed with an evacuation pipe through which the envelope is evacuated.

Reduced thickness vacuum container with getter

A method for manufacturing a glass container and an apparatus therefor capable of providing the container by pressing of a glass substrate using a die while keeping the glass substrate uniformly heated and softened. The glass substrate is heated while being kept lifted from a lower mold of a forming die and then subject to integral forming by the forming die. This permits the glass substrate to be integrally formed into the glass container in the form of a finished product, resulting in the number of steps and time required for processing being reduced.

Method for manufacturing glass container and apparatus therefor

A getter support capable of permitting a getter to be compactly arranged in a vacuum envelope while keeping a space for the getter minimized. The getter support includes holders for vertically interposedly holding a getter, first support legs formed integrally with the holders so as to downwardly extend therefrom, and second support legs formed integrally with the holders so as to upwardly extend therefrom. The getter support is fixedly arranged in a getter chamber while being pressed by elasticity of the second support legs. The second support legs are varied in deflection depending on contact thereof with a second substrate of an envelope. This permits a distance between an upper surface of the getter and the second substrate of the envelope to be constantly kept at a desired value.

Getter support

A multi-digit luminescent display tube having a plurality of pattern display sections arranged in the form of a matrix within a vacuum envelope is disclosed. The pattern display sections include a plurality of anodes, control grids, cathode filaments and shielding members. The shielding members are arranged midway between rows or columns of the pattern display sections in a direction along which the cathode filaments are stretched, whereby to shield each of the rows or columns of the pattern display sections from thermions emitted from the cathode filaments which are stretched in different rows or columns of the pattern display sections.
