Each of pixel circuits is controlled by at least a first scanning signal and a second scanning signal. A first scanning circuit supplies the first scanning signal to first scanning lines. A second scanning circuit supplies the second scanning signal to second scanning lines. The first scanning signal is a scanning signal that turns ON/OFF an n-type transistor in a pixel circuit for refresh operation including writing a data voltage to the pixel circuit. The second scanning signal is a scanning signal that controls whether to supply lighting current to a light-emitting element in the pixel circuit. An output of a clamp switching circuit is connected to a first scanning signal line. The clamp switching circuit is controlled by the second scanning signal to keep the first scanning signal line at a low-level potential for at least a part of an emission period.

Display device with clamp switching circuit

Each pixel circuit includes a driving transistor, a first switching transistor and a second switching transistor. The driving transistor includes first and second gate electrodes. The first switching transistor is connected to a first data line and the first gate electrode, and controlled to be ON or OFF in accordance with a scanning signal supplied to a scanning line. The second switching transistor is connected to a second data line and the second gate electrode, and controlled to be ON or OFF in accordance with the scanning signal supplied to the scanning line. The voltage of the second data signal varies in the opposite direction to variation of voltage of the first data signal for at least a part of a gray scale range of the light-emitting element including the lowest gray scale level from the lowest gray scale level to the highest gray scale level.

A pixel circuit includes a first switching transistor between a gate and a drain of a driving transistor, a second switching transistor, and an auxiliary capacitor connected to the second switching transistor. The second switching transistor transfers a data signal voltage from a data line to a storage capacitor through the driving transistor and the first switching transistor. The auxiliary capacitor retains the auxiliary charges depending on the data signal voltage from the data line during a first period where the second and first switching transistors are ON. The auxiliary charges are transfer from the auxiliary capacitor to the storage capacitor through the first switching transistor and the driving transistor during the second period where the second switching transistor is OFF and the first switching transistor is ON. Capacitance of the auxiliary capacitor is equal to or larger than ½ of capacitance of the storage capacitor.

The display pixel circuit is configured to control light emission of the display light-emitting element based on a data signal in accordance with video data. The reference light-emitting element is precluded from the control in accordance with video data. The display driving circuit is configured to acquire a reference signal indicating a current-voltage characteristic of the reference light-emitting element, acquire a characteristic signal indicating the current-voltage characteristic of the display light-emitting element, and generate a signal indicating a degree of deterioration of the display light-emitting element based on a difference of the characteristic signal from the reference signal.

A display device includes a pixel circuit on a substrate, a data line to transmit a data signal for the pixel circuit on the substrate, a power supply line, and an extra voltage supply line different from the power supply line and the data line. The pixel circuit includes a driving transistor to control an amount of electric current supplied to a light-emitting element, a storage capacitor between a gate terminal of the driving transistor and the power supply line, a first switching transistor between the light-emitting element and the driving transistor, a second switching transistor between a source terminal of the driving transistor and the data line, and a third switching transistor between the source terminal of the driving transistor and the extra voltage supply line. Each of latch circuits outputs a pulse of a first kind of signal to a pixel circuit row. Shift register units serially output pulses of a second kind of signal. Each of the latch circuits receives the pulse of the second kind of signal from a first shift register unit and the pulse of the second kind of signal from a second shift register unit of a later stage than the first shift register unit. The pulse of the first kind of signal from each of the latch circuits changes from a first potential level to a second potential level in response to the pulse of the second kind of signal from the first shift register unit and changes from the second potential level to the first potential level in response to the pulse of the second kind of signal from the second shift register unit.

A sensor device is disclosed. The sensor device includes a monitor thin film transistor, a reference thin film transistor, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to determine a value measured from a sample based on a differential degree between output current of the reference thin film transistor and output current of the monitor thin film transistor.

A display device includes: a display unit including pixels; a shift register connected to scan signal lines and outputting a pulse signal sequentially, the shift register being divided into shift register segments; a driver generating a clock signal to be supplied to each segment, and a video signal to be input to each pixel; and a controller controlling the driver for generating the clock signal and the video signal, the controller monitoring output of each segment and detecting a malfunction of any of the segments. A shift register unit of a first stage of each segment outputs the pulse signal at a prescribed timing after receiving a start signal. The unit of a stage differing from the first stage outputs the pulse signal at a prescribed timing after receiving a carry signal based on the pulse signal from the unit of a preceding stage.
