A fluidized bed or fluidized bed/spouted bed granulator into which urea seed particles, an aqueous urea solution and air are introduced to produce urea particles with an average particle size of 1 mm or more. The granulator includes a box-shaped granulation chamber with a bottom floor, a top and side surfaces. Inner wall surfaces of the chamber are of a metal plate material, an upper part of the side or top surfaces includes an exhaust outlet, the side surfaces or top surface includes an inlet for introducing the seed particles, the side surfaces include a collection port for the particles, the aqueous urea solution is introduced from the bottom floor or the side surfaces, the air is introduced from the bottom floor or the bottom floor and the side surfaces, and at least a portion of the inner wall surfaces of the granulation chamber is treated by surface roughening.

Fluidized bed granulator or fluidized bed/spouted bed granulator

Method and apparatus that enable the more efficient manufacture of urea are provided. Before unreacted substances are removed from a urea synthesis solution obtained from a stripper, the urea synthesis solution is placed under pressure reduced from the synthesis pressure. Thus, a gas-liquid mixture is obtained. The gas-liquid mixture is heated with a decomposed gas from the stripper using a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, and then introduced into a purification system. In the heating, the gas-liquid mixture is introduced into the shell of the heat exchanger while the decomposed gas is introduced into the tube side of the heat exchanger.

Urea manufacturing method and urea manufacturing apparatus

A method for treating a urea aqueous solution includes a first stripping step of steam stripping an aqueous solution containing urea, ammonia and carbon dioxide at 0.2 to 0.6 MPaA in a first stripper to separate ammonia and carbon dioxide from this aqueous solution into a gas phase; a hydrolysis step of hydrolyzing urea in the solution obtained from the first stripping step at an LHSV of 10 to 20 h, at 1.1 to 3.1 MPaA and 180 to 230&#xb0; C. in a catalytic hydrolyzer; and a second stripping step of steam stripping a liquid obtained in the hydrolysis step in a second stripper to separate ammonia and carbon dioxide from this liquid into a gas phase. The residual urea concentration can be reduced to 1 ppm or lower; the residual ammonia concentration can be decreased; LHSV can be increased; and an increase in apparatus size is minimized.

Method and apparatus for treating urea aqueous solution

In a granulating process for preparing granular urea from an aqueous urea solution using a fluidized bed method or a fluidized, spouted bed method, an aqueous urea solution having a urea concentration of 94-98.5 wt % is used and the operational temperature of the fluidized bed is controlled in a range of 110-120&#xb0; C. to accelerate the drying of a granulated product to thereby give a granular urea product having a moisture content of 0.3 wt % or less.

Process for preparing granular urea product

The present invention provides a granulation method with increased drying effect while assuring the pressure for spraying the aqueous solution and the necessary number of nozzles equivalent to those of conventional design. Specifically, the granulation method uses a granulator structured by a fluid bed which fluidizes the granulating-particles, an air feed pipe to introduce air, a nozzle for spraying the raw material aqueous solution being located at center part of the air feed pipe, and a perforated plate to feed a fluidization air to the fluid bed, thus granulating the raw material aqueous solution by spraying thereof from the nozzle into a granulation part, wherein a multi-nozzle in a specified shape having a plurality of nozzle ends thereon is used as the nozzle for spraying the raw material aqueous solution.

Multi-nozzle for granulation and method for manufacturing granular product

There is disclosed a process to produce fertilizer granules containing urea and ammonium sulfate with a high ammonium sulfate concentration of &lE;60 wt. % in a fluidized bed granulator, which process comprises the steps of: a) a molten urea suspension consisting of ammonium sulfate having an average particle size of 30 to 300 &mgr;m and urea having a temperature range of 120 to 155&deg; C. is produced, b) the molten urea suspension produced at the stage a) is then injected from below on the fine particles of urea/ammonium sulfate in a fluidized bed granulator by means of at least a nozzle, while the fluidized bed is loosened by a spouting air flow in the injection area, and subsequently, c) the fertilizer granules generated in the fluidized bed are separated and, if necessary, treated. Homogeneous urea/ammonium sulfate granules of an ammonium sulfate content between 30 and 60 wt. % can be produced this way without any problems, while the particle size of granules can be adjusted selectively and dust emissions by granulation can be reduced to a minimum.
