A grasping treatment device includes a first electrode portion provided at least one of in a part between a jaw and a probe electric conducting portion in opening-and-closing directions of the jaw and in the probe electric conducting portion, and a second electrode portion provided at least one of in a part between the jaw and the first electrode portion in the opening-and-closing directions of the jaw and in a jaw electric conducting portion. The grasping treatment device includes an inter-electrode distance changing unit changing an inter-electrode distance so that a second distance between the electrode portions in a second treatment mode, in which the high-frequency current alone is transmitted to the first electrode portion and second electrode portion, is smaller than a first distance between the electrode portions in a first treatment mode, in which at least an ultrasonic vibration is transmitted to a probe electric conducting portion.

Grasping treatment device

A grasping treatment device includes a probe including a first electrode portion in its distal portion, and a jaw configured to open or close relative to the first electrode portion and including a second electrode portion. The grasping treatment device includes a grasping force converting unit converting a grasping force so that a second grasping force between the distal portion of the probe and the jaw in a second treatment mode in which high-frequency current alone is transmitted to the first electrode portion and the second electrode portion is greater than a first grasping force between the distal portion of the probe and the jaw in a first treatment mode in which at least an ultrasonic vibration is transmitted to the distal portion of the probe.

A grasping treatment device includes a first electrode portion functioning as an electrode when a high-frequency current is transmitted thereto through a probe unit, and a second electrode portion functioning as an electrode when a high-frequency current is transmitted thereto through a sheath unit. An ultrasonic surgical instrument includes an ultrasonic vibrator, a vibration transmission section, a grip member, a pad member provided at a position of the grip member which faces the treatment section, and a planar facing surface disposed on the pad member. A distal end portion of the treatment section faces the pad member, and is curved from a proximal end portion side of the treatment section toward the distal end portion side of the treatment section in a direction away from the facing surface. The pad member includes a protruding portion which is disposed on the facing surface, protrudes from the facing surface toward the distal end portion of the treatment section, and abuts on the distal end portion of the treatment section while the grip member is closed.
